CANINE SPECIALTIES

I have nothing but positive things to say about Canine Specialties and John. He is firm but fair with all of the dogs and treats them like his own. The training is performed without treats, bribery or intimidation. He takes the time to answer any questions and is never short on suggestions to change unwanted behavior. The basic class is structured with specific activities for each week, but intermediate is tailored to the needs of the individual dogs in the class, so it doesn't get boring or repititive. Advanced classes are also offered. I like that John gives us an activity to do, demonstrates what he means and then goes around the room and works with each owner to help them achieve the desired results. He is always available after classes or on the phone to answer questions or to give advice. Over these last four years, I have realized that it's the people that get trained so that we can get what we want or need from our dogs. The price is super reasonable at $91.80 for an 8 week course. He is also very flexible in letting people switch nights if they can't make their regular night for some reason. If all trainers were like John Finegan, we would have many more social and well behaved dogs, and I credit him and his training for keeping my dog from being kept seperate from the other dogs in my house!
