Bob brings skill and professionalism to the job. Being an electrician isn't his day job (I believe he said he was a firefighter), but his brother and father are electricians by trade. He still gives you a formal invoice for the services he performed.
That being said, his hourly rate was cheaper than some of the bigger electricians, but it takes longer for him to perform a service. In our case, our new house had some wacky circuits and we didn't know what switch controlled what socket or outlet. Compound that with the fact that I tried being a handyman by replacing the light switches and two electrical outlets myself (incorrectly), it gave Bob a chance to play detective to determine what was wrong and fix it.
We also wanted to replace our double tapped 100 Amp circuit box, and got a quote from Bob about that. Unfortunately, we did not move forward on that due to his pricing. But to be fair, Bob was a great asset for our small jobs, and could be beneficial for larger jobs too.

There was a ceiling fan and outlet so we could have separate control for the light and ceiling fan itself. He did a beautiful job and he was a nice gentleman. He was here for two days.

Bob was a true professional from the start and did everthing to give us a good estimate over the phone not knowing what may happen when he got here. He was a pleasure to work with and we will have him back for some more work. I called a few places (on Angie's list) and Bob's service charge alone beat everyone as well as his hourly after that. We would highly recommend Bob.

Bob Shaw was extremely professional and did a great deal of work at a great price. He was friendly and thorough and very good at giving us what we needed and making excellent improvements along the way that we hadn't thought of. It took him 2 full days to do all of the work and he worked much longer than 8 hours each day. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for electrical work to be done at a reasonable cost. If my husband and I ever need anything more done in the future we will definitely call on Bob Shaw.

Bob did excellent work upgrading our electrical service. He researched and presented several options for the upgrade, and was meticulous about it being done right. Now we have better power and no unsightly electrical or cable wires overhead anymore. I would highly recommend him for residential electrical work.
