He was able to come the same day and just took care of things.

Did not have the correct spring on first call, but rigged the door to work well without it. Returned in a day with the correct spring and put it in even though we were not home.

All is well. Mr. Stiffler does a very good job and is very responsive. I would recommend. He has fixed or adjusted my garage door on a number of occasions, and I have been satisfied. He seems to be very honest and very thorough.

The service was done within an hour of placing the call. Later that morning, I found the remote controls did not work unless they were located directly under the opener. Fred returned promptly and determined that the LED bulbs I had placed in the opener affected the range for the remotes. He replaced with incandescent bulbs and the problem was solved. There was no charge for his return visit.

On returning from work, I could not get into my garage. I investigated the problem and noticed the torsion spring that counterbalances the weight of the door, during opening/closing, was broken.
I called at 6:30PM on Wednesday evening. He was at my house the next day at 9:30am. He called in the morning to let me know when to expect his arrival. His first call was from his first appointment of the day to give me an approximate estimate of his arrival. His second call was to let me know he was in transit to lock in his arrival time.
He worked quickly and professionally, no problems. Once the spring was installed, he made adjustments to the garage door opener, to compensate for the new spring tension.
This is the second time I have used this company - The last time was about (15) years ago. It was a very good experience then - which is why I went back to Fred Stiffler/Automatic Garage Door Repair Service again.

We cannot speak to the ability or talent or integrity of fred as a garage door repairman. we can only attest that his telephone conversation was so abrupt and unpleasant we searched angie's list and found a wonderful alternative!

The service was great. He was very knowledgeable and he talked to me during the whole process. He gave advice on the type of garage doors that we may want in the future. The quality of the work was good.

My garage door got stuck half way down. I called Fred and he came out and fixed the problem. From the time I called until repair was finished was less than 3 hours. Now that's what I call service. Fred rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called Fred and he came right out the first thing the next day. Was right on time at 8:30 as promised. Diagnosed the problem, fixed it and was on his way in about 20 minutes

One thing I liked was when I called him, he was very up front saying the service all was a minimum of 65.00. That was very good so there was no misunderstanding

This was an emergency! We couldn't get our cars out of the garage. Fred came right away, squeezing me in between customers on a busy day, and fixed the spring in no time for a reasonable price. Awesome experience!

I called Fred Stiffler at 9am and he returned my call at 9:30. He was at my hom at 11:00 and was finished by 11:45.
The work was done to my satisfaction, he and his helper were respectful and professional, and the garage was picked up and clean when they left. He answered all my questions and suggested other service providers. I was impressed by his 40 years of experience and willingness to share information.

Things went beautifully. He was extremely knowledgeable, prompt, polite and very staight forward and honest.

Called the day before and he said he would call me the morning of. He was going to be out between 11 and 1, fine. I have an office in my house so I let him know I would be on a conference call until 11:30 but the garage door would be up and he could begin work. He stated that if I didn't pick up when he called he would not stop. I tried to explain to him that I was in business too and that I was the customer and he should be able to stop if I told him I was going to be here. He would not relent and I told him he could either do it that way or not get the job and he said he didn't care and to get someone else to do the job.

On the morning of my birthday several weeks ago, when I was scheduled to leave on a road trip at 1 that afternoon, I found my garage door spring broken and no way to get the car out of the garage. I called my usual garage door repair company but they said they really couldn't get out before that afternoon, if at all that day. Then I called Automatic Garage Door Repair (Fred Stiffler), told him the problem (broken springs are his specialty according to his yellow pages ad), and asked if there was any way he could come out the same morning. He assured me that he would definitely come before 1 (it was about 10), but then he called back to say that he spoke with his next scheduled customer (of five more to go that day) and she ok'd him visiting my house first!! So...30 minutes later, he was here and 50 minutes later the door was fixed, with new springs! I was stunned. When he arrived, he commented that he has worked on every door on my cul-de-sac EXCEPT mine (silly me for not asking my neighbors for a recommendation). He was courteous, focused on the work, and skilled. He has been at this for thirty years or so, and has a fully stocked truck. Most impressive to me was his ethics-- he met my need for immediacy in a way that is incredibly unusual (30 minute response time) but more importantly, he got the okay from the next customer FIRST. I was glad to know that if I were the next customer (and not the one with the emergency), I would also have been treated with respect. By 11, I was free to move about and take my birthday trip with no problem. It's been two weeks and the garage door is running smoothly. We will use him for sure the next time the garage door needs a repair.
