I hired ARS Construction Development to demolish my 20’x40’ in-ground pool in late March of 2018. The job included re-grading the entire back yard, removing the fencing and raking the soil out in preparation for lawn seeding. They showed up two days in early April, demolished the pool, partially filled the hole with material from the rest of the yard, removed two thirds of the fence, and never showed up again. I got calls from them weekly promising to come today, or tomorrow or the day after but they never showed up and never called to say they weren’t coming. The end of May I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In June I got the town building department involved and they scheduled a final inspection with ARS to encourage them to finish the job. ARS never showed up and never called to cancel. I got a failed inspection notice posted on my front door. After multiple conversations over the next month, including two with the owner, all I came away with was more empty promises. After over 60 days of failure to show up and a notice from the Better Business Bureau that ARS failed to respond after 4 weeks, I fired them the last week of June 2018. My entire back yard is torn up with weeds 4’ tall and a gaping hole 20’ across and 3’ deep. The surface is way too rough to rake out and there are rocks exposed the size of your head. The last conversation I had with the owner got me a promise of a partial refund, but as of this date that has not materialized either. Next week will be 3 months since I was able to enjoy my back yard for any purpose. Buyer beware.
