I hired Andrew Finer to design my website way back in February 2012. As of October 10, 2012, the site was STILL not complete, in spite of his estimate of 39 hours of total work. He was completely unresponsive to any of my emails, usually taking over a week, sometimes two weeks to respond. He never answered his phone or returned any of my messages. He was resistant to any of my suggestions and made changes reluctantly or not at all.
He originally told me my hosting fees would be $20 a month but I found out too late that they were double that because he insisted on building the site on his preferred web designer tools. He also told me because of the way he designed the site that I would have to pay for third party payment processing to collect payments for my merchandise. That is a total of $70 in monthly operating costs when he told me it would only be $20.
He made the site live in September and insisted it was ready to go, in spite of a list of 25 items that I sent him to correct, which he did not do. There were typos and broken links throughout the site and it was not optimized. After three weeks of no response from him, I ended up pulling the plug on the site because I had already paid for two months of hosting and two months to the payment processing company. That was an additional$140 out of pocket for a site I never used.
He refused to give me a refund saying that he delivered a fully functioning site and then he tried to blame me for the delays. He was supposed to set up a training session to show me how to use and edit the site but he would never commit to a date or time, even though I requested it many, many times. I missed three critical time frames when my sales are usually double what they normally are.
I went to a conference where he told me to go ahead and hand out my new business card to potential customers (which I did), but it directed them to a broken site for merchandise that they could not buy, putting me in a very embarrassing situation. Not only am I out the money I paid Andrew and two months of operating costs, he cost me thousands of dollars in lost sales. I do NOT recommend Andrew Lauren Design under any circumstances.
