We have depended on Action Automotive and Towing Service for over two years now - for both major and minor service - and wish we had known about them sooner! Each person, from the Service Writers at the front desk, to the Automotive Mechanics/Technicians and even the office staff that occasionally walks through the waiting area, has been courteous, personable and highly professional. Their diagnosis has almost always been spot-on, and they have done their best to find ways for us to stay within our budget without compromising our safety or the safety of our vehicles. The quality of service has been exceptional, and we feel that, while their prices are somewhat competitive, they are fair. In addition, we have never felt pressured to purchase any service other than the service we need and/or want - and the diagnosis and recommendations are explained in complete and easy-to-understand terms - which helps us to make educated decisions about the work to be done.
The waiting area is clean and comfortable, with areas to either relax or work while waiting for the service to be completed. Coffee, tea, cold water and soft drink/snack machines are on-site, and they even have a separate room designated as a children's play area, stocked with games and some toys! And while this is a nice amenity for parents and caregivers that need to bring their children along, it's also a nice feature for those of us that need to work while waiting for our vehicles - everyone is happy!

We came back from a trip and discovered that the car we left in the garage wouldn't start. We called AAA and our usual towing service was busy so they sent us Action. They arrived faster than we expected and found that the battery was totally drained but didnt' show any signs of problems. The sliding doors had been sticking and it seemed that one of them looked closed but wasn't. They jumped the battery and said to drive the car around for a bit to charge up the battery. If it drained again they said to call back and they'd look into replacing the battery (it was a AAA battery and not even a year old) but it's been fine ever since.

They claimed they fixed the serpentine belt and I told them not to fix the hood latch because they were going to charge me about $350 to fix it. The experience was bad; they said they fixed the serpentine belt but it broke 3 days later. I thought they were overcharging me for the hood latch. They claimed I needed to get a new hood latch and that I needed to get a new release cable, which was not true. I just ended up buying a replacement hood latch on eBay for $40 and had a friend re-install it for me.

I would give an "F" to them. I had a horrible experience with them. I reported them to another consumer rating company, as Action Towing is a member of that company. They were dishonest, they inflated the bill and they charged me $85 for a diagnosis, and that was just for a diagnosis. They inflated the bill by identifying problems that were not problems, so they were dishonest. They told me that I needed a new battery and I did not, because I was at another auto service the next day and they did a diagnosis for the same problem and they did not identify that I needed a new battery or that I needed transmission service. Action Towing completely inflated the bill where if I had them do work I would have ended up paying like $1500, when all I needed was the bypass pulley on the AC, which the other auto service charged me for $495 instead of paying like $1500 going by what Action Towing was telling me. By their inflated bill coming up with all these other inflations they wanted to charge me $69.26 to get the valve cover gasket and that I needed an oil pan gasket, $47.97. They said that my engine was leaking and they wanted to charge me $20 to secure heat shield on the underside of my car. I mean they just inflated the bill with unnecessary things that I did not need done. So, I reported them to the other consumer rating company, as I am a member of that too and I got their name from them. I had called that consumer rating company and asked for their recommendation on a local car repair shop and they gave me the name of Griss' and Action Towing and Service.

There was no charge because it was put into my insurance. They were pretty good. They were very friendly and quick.
