It went better than I expected! Dr. Halpern took into account all my dog's medical records (over 100 pages) and history. He detected a heart murmur which I failed to report and a cyst over his left eye that wasn't a huge concern for me, but an annoyance. (He put a needle in the cyst and it disappeared like magic!!) Here's my Google review: I was extremely pleased with my 12-year old dog's new vet. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The location was convenient for parking (during the mid-day) and clean. Although a small facility, it was a welcoming experience. Most importantly, they had the knowledge to deal with Sammy and all of his medical needs from the complex (lupoid onchodystrophy) to the mundane (arthritis). They also understood that as a rescue, he has psycho-emotional baggage that require some special handling. Lastly, their prices were reasonable and they gave me options for regular testing and medications in order to keep the costs down. I will definitely go back. I'm very happy to have a regular vet again.

good dog had severe skin infection cleared with meds

I have been using Lefferts Animal Hospital for over 5 years.  I have read all the reviews, and yes - the waiting room is crowded and sometimes, you need to wait a bit to be seen, but the quality of care my 2 English Bulldogs receive is the best there is anywhere.  I would NEVER take my animals anywhere else. 
The staff is receptive and the doctors are phenomenal.  I would and do highly recommend them to anyone who truly loves thier pet and wants the best possible care.

I felt like I always got the run around from them. I had a bad experience from the staff.  I will not use them ever again or would I recommend them to anyone.

I really liked the place. It was a bit crowded and  I  had to wait awhile. I did a full physical on my poodle from a eye checkup to urine etc. I liked how thorough and informative the staff was and I felt that my poodle was getting good quality care. A good place to take your pet.

The office is very clean and he has a great staff. They are very patient.

Their waiting room was too small so there are people shooing the dogs, people with cat carriers placed on the lobby, and some of the people stood outside with the big dogs. Their whole place was kind of very small. There seemed to be a lot of commotion there. I think they have three doctors there, a lot of technicians, and some working in the back, it was very hectic. I've been to other places where they have much more calm environment. With their works, I had to bring my cat back so I had to deal with the other dogs again. Other than that , they are okay.

Found the Vet assistants, front desk, and Vets very professional and attentive to you and your pet. Clean environment and seem to have a lot of repeat customers, as the front desk knew a lot of the owners and their pets and asked after their well being. Will more than likely go back. I do have to mention one doctor in particular who I thought was very kind and that would be Dr Acevedo.

They are great. I don’t have to wait too long. I have big dogs, so they understand that I have to stay outside and one of them will come out and get me. They also saved one of my dog’s life when it got it by a car. As soon as I walked in with her in my arms and told them what happened, they took her right away. It is like a hospital and they have x-rays and a laboratory right there. She was hit by a car about 8 years ago and she is alive and is 11 years old now. I walked in there hysterical like I was loosing mu child.

We just moved here from PA. Before we were moving we had already set up surgery with a vet in PA to have my dogs soft palate shortened, tonsils removed, her teeth cleaned and some pulled. We had the surgery performed in PA as scheduled. When we came back home to NY I noticed over the week that she wasn?t sounding any better. I found LEFFERTS ANIMAL HOSPITAL on Angieslist and since they already had good ratings I thought we would give them a try. We were very satisfied with our services. The veterinary doctor that consulted with us during our visit was extremely knowledgeable and even explained details to us in her original blood work from PA that was not explained to us before. He prescribed medication to help with the swelling from her surgery. Even though the waiting room was full he took his time with us and didn?t rush to get to his next appointment. We greatly appreciated him examining our dog because we know doctors don?t like to take over other doctors surgery cases. He understood we had just moved from PA. If I would have known about Lefferts Animal Hospital sooner I would have had her surgery performed there as opposed to PA. I am happy to say I have two dogs and will be taking them to Lefferts Animal Hospital from now on. My dogs are my kids and I am extremely picky as to where I take them! I will also add that I was pleasantly surprised of the overall price of $65.00 for her visit. When I was looking for a vet on Angieslist I was looking for an overall A rating and that included price.

Can be busy at times, but overall great vets and our dog doesn't mind going. They have several vets on staff, so make sure you find one that you and your dog like.

THIS IS THE BEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN NEW YORK. THE PRICE IS REASONABLE AND FAIR. THE DOCTORS ARE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL. THE DOCTORS ALWAYS CARESS AND COMFORT THE ANIMALS AFTER THEY RECEIVE THEIR SHOTS.

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS VETERINARIAN CLINIC FOR EIGHT YEARS AND THE SERVICES ARE GREAT. WHEN WAITING FOR THE DOCTORS THE WAIT TIME IS NO LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES WITHIN THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. THE DOCTORS ARE ALWAYS LOVING AND CARING.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE BECAUSE THE VETERINARIANS ARE NICE. THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND MY DOG LOVES TO BE THERE. I APPRECIATED THE CARE MY DOG RECEIVED AT THE TIME OF SURGERY TOOK PLACE.

WE HAVE USED THIS HOSPITAL FOR MANY OF YEARS. THE DOCTORS AND STAFF ARE VERY PATIENT AND LOVING TOWARDS ALL OF THE PETS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS HOSPITAL.

THIS VET IS VERY GOOD TO MY PETS, I TAKE MY PETS THERE FOR THEIR SHOTS. BUT MOST OF THE TIME I DO HAVE TO WAIT TO LONG I THINK SINCE I AM ONLY THERE FOR SHOTS.
