I went to this provider once and will never go again. When the doctor finally came in the room to see me the first thing she said was, "well, I haven't had time to look at your disc yet but what's wrong." I barely got 2 sentences out and she was writing a script out. Not my idea of a good doctor.

Dr. Ristic did very little for me in person. He showed me the x-rays taken at the hospital and scheduled surgery. The surgery went OK but the dressing he applied looked used and basically dirty. When it came off and my finger bandages came off the doctor told me he was sure the ring finger would need to be "fused" or the pain would be awful. But , we would try physical therapy first. The therapist at the Orthopedic Associates offices was wonderful. She was careful and patient and I told my husband I was going to prove the prediction of "fusing" wrong. With a fused finger I would have been unable to type and I was still employed and needed that ability. Well, the therapist and I won the day. My finger can still bend and I said goodbye to Dr. Ristic. The PT office was basically a separate office from the doctor's facility, hence my unfavorable evaluation of the office in the earlier parts of this review.
Description of Work: I fell on my basement stairs and dislocated my middle finger on my left hand and broke my ring finger, The hospital emergency room referred me to Dr. Ristic.

After ordering several tests to assess the condition of my spine, Dr. Barriick concluded that my only option was to have a cervical corpectomy to relieve the constant chronic nerve pain I had been experiencing for months. Dr. Barrick explained the procedure to me in a very easy to understand and compassionate manner. He speaks quickly and very concisely but has no problem whatever if you simply ask him to repeat himself or to slow down. My surgery went without any complications and my first conscious thought in the recovery room was "the pain is gone". It has now been over one month since the surgery and I am feeling better each day and am nearly pain free. I would recommend Dr. Barrick to anyone who may be considering spinal surgery and would prefer to have it done locally rather than going out of town to have surgery.
Description of Work: I was referred to Dr. Barrick by my pain management doctor to treat me for degenerative disc disease.

After my MRI's, I went back to discuss results. I had seen the MRI reports myself earlier, but he just gave me a quick summary saying I had some arthritis in my back and neck (when in fact the MRI reports detailed where I had bulging and degenerating discs; I know this causes arthritis but the specifics would have been useful to me). He wanted to send me to the pain management program as well as physical therapy. I said I had a question about some chest pain I've been having, and began to give him the background. At which point, he interrupted me and said, and quot; You said you had a QUESTION?and quot; The whole experience felt like being in a factory and this is conveyor belt medicine; no time or interest for anything but the basics. Dr. Perkins' rudeness really made me angry and I will never go back, nor recommend this particular doctor. Other docs may be better.
Description of Work: I saw Dr. Richard Perkins because of neck pain and bad sciatica pain in my legs. He interrupted me twice when I was giving him my history, as if he were in a rush and impatient. He ordered MRI's and a follow up; total visit was maybe 7 minutes long.

It takesa month to get an appointment at any of the offices. I was treated at the one in Kingston Office staff and MD not very friendly or sympathetic. Physical therapy was proscribed for many visits--which I felt was mostly a waste of time. However, there aren't many choices in our area.

I was warned that this doctor runs late and I did wait over 90 minutes but finding a good doctor is rare so just be prepared. She seems up-to-date on new treatments and was able to listen and understand my problem.
Description of Work: Difficult autoimmune disease, the doctor was compassionate and willing to try things outside the box.

I first saw Dr. Lombardo in May 2012 because of pain in my left hip which affected my ability to walk. He examined me and explained my condition and the treatment options. By August I decided that I was ready for a hip replacement. Dr. Lombardo gave me a booklet explaining the procedure and how to prepare for the operation and what to expect afterwards. The hospital where he operates holds weekly classes for people having joint replacement, which his patients are required to attend before surgery. I felt very well prepared. The surgery went extremely well and the after-care was excellent. I am still following up with the doctor, but I am able to walk pain free again. I would recommend that anyone considering joint replacement set up an appointment with Dr. Lombardo. I can't say enough good things about him.
Description of Work: I saw Dr. Lombardo in May 2012 about a hip replacement. Dr. Lombardo subsequently replaced my left hip. He is excellent and I would recommend him to anyone needing this surgery.

Appointment started about 5 minutes late with nurse taking vitals and brief history of treatment. After a short wait, the doctor arrived and we reviewed current status of treatments for the past three months. Doctor performed an examination. The results were rather disappointing, but rather than letting me focus on that, she directed further conversation to what other options were open to try to improve my condition. After a rather lengthy discussion (more than 15 minutes), we had agreed upon a new plan and while I was still rather disappointed, I felt that she had done well in explaining options to me and giving me her recommendation of the options offered. In the end, it was my decision based on the facts and opinions presented by her. I have a lot of confidence in this doctor. This confidence is based on a consultation I had with the NYU Langone Medical Center for Joint Diseases. I consulted with a well known and highly acknowledged physician at the Center for Arthritis & Autoimmunity. I was examined, results from my lab reports were reviewed, and an extended review of my detailed treatment history was conducted. The NYU doctor praised my doctor's level of care, stating that she was doing everything right and that I was in exceptionally good hands. Overall, you will probably have to wait for many weeks for an appointment and will probably have to wait beyond the time of your appointment before getting in to see the doctor, but when there, you will know that you are being listened to, that the doctor cares about your comfort, and that she will try to find the right solution to help you make life easier.
Description of Work: Follow up visit to evaluate new treatment regiment which was started in November 2011. There had been a previous checkpoint three months earlier with adjustments made to the treatment plan in February. She has been by Rheumatologist for more than 10 years.

As stated before i have been seeing Dr. Shen for over a year now and would recommend him to anyone needing a physician specializing in foot and ankle injuries-I am also seen by him each visit and not just followed up by a PA or NP as many of my friends who use other orthopedic practices are.
Description of Work: Have been a patient of Dr Shen's for over a year now and have always found him to be knowledgeable and professional. He has tried to provide me after a traumatic ankle fracture the opportunity for the most mobility and positive quality of life. I have had second opinions in NYC and the plan of care offered there did not differ significantly from the care I was receiving here in the Hudson Valley.

Dr. Stamer is a fabulous Dr. I met him when he was working for Orthopedics Associates which is a terrible practice that is basically a surgery mill. He left the practice to provide better quality care for his patients. he performed surgery on my knee after a car accident had caused a tear to my meniscus, after physical therapy didn't do the job. His offices are in Sharon CT and one in Putnam Co. NY. He is currently with the Mid-Hudson medical group. I live in Kingston but traveled the 45 minutes to Sharon to have the surgery performed at the hospital there, as he is now affiliated with them, although I believe he is working on getting priveledges at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Sharon Hospital staff were great and clearly fond of him and respectful of him. I'm terrified of surgery and hosptials. He did a great job on my knee and provided the kind of support that was necessary for me to feel comfortable. My knee is in much better shape than it was before the surgery, although removing this tissue does always leave you with a more vulnerable joint. This is no reflection on him, its just the fact of this type of injury. Could not recommend him more highly!
Description of Work: trimmed meniscus tear.
