My general sense is he a well meaning guy who tries to do a professional job and make some money for himself. However, your deadlines (like a section 8 inspection) may be meaningless to him, he may just follow his own timeline regardless of what he promises to you. He may say he is going to show up on a certain day, and when that day comes, he will simply fail to show up. The only time you can really guarantee he will show up is if he really needs the money from the job at that moment. Summary: like most handymen I have dealt with, his trade skills appear ok but he is low on what we would consider service skills and professionalism (like meeting deadlines). Like most handymen, you have to keep on top of him to get stuff done. Have not had a chance to inspect the quality of the work yet personally, but nothing he did has been reported back as breaking down. He apparently does work for a lot of investors in Syracuse.
