NOLAN PROPANE

It went very well. I had just moved into a new house. They were honest.

The propane is not used for heating, it is only used for propane.  I had paid in advance so that I have a credit balance which even after their delivery I still have it.  I have been using since I moved here in 1991.  They are very dependable.  The owner used to be a customer of mine when I was in business, we used to deliver truckloads of propane into his tank and now he has two sons in his business.   

He is competitive and his prices has not gone up yet.

Called Nolan's office early in morning - told them I had no hot water. Hot water heater is of indeterminate age so I figured I would need a new one, NO NO NO shortly after the call they showed up and did a few magic things and the old tank was up and runniing.

They were very good. They give a really good price. They do everything above and beyond my expectations. They come immediately whenever I have the slightest problem. They have done everything possible to make things right.

Not good... disappointed. I've respected the owner for a while and his family run business decisions. I also appreciate when a small business owner is at least honest enough with me to let me know they can't come through, or they need to reschedule, or there are delays. Managing customer expectations is a large part of small business success. He has not done this.

This is where Nolan Propane is failing me. Not only have they failed to deliver on the promise to supply a service, and product, but they have persistently deceived me into believing they would follow through on their subsequent deliveries and service.

I believe I have given them every opportunity to deliver, to upgrade my propane service with them, to sell me more of their propane, or simply call me to discuss their plans.

Their intentional ongoing deception is an unacceptable business practice, and I hold them accountable for the time off I've taken from work, the delay in delivery, and deception.

They use to be reliable, but I have lost a lot of faith in them, and can no longer consider them a reliable provider.

Hopefully, they can turn this around....

UPDATE -- 11/14/20011
They finally showed up and told me they have been waiting for the tank to arrive. The installer also mentioned the "free" tank would cost me about $4500 to install. He then offered an alternative of several smaller tanks, which could be installed immediately. I agreed, and they came back the next day and installed them. The three tanks are pretty large, side by side. But, it is what I have to do if they can't be buried.

Last item to note... the tanks are empty, of course, when they are installed. They were filled later in the day by another technician who indicated a charge of approx $4.50 per gallon....WHAT???? Competitors price is around $3.80/gal. Ironically, my bro-in-law is also a Nolan client, and recently took delivery at $3.50/gal. I guess those tanks weren't free?

If given the opportunity, they apparently will take advantage of your trust.

They've been excellent! They are timely, competitive and are focused on their customers. They will also fill RV tanks.
