The project started well but ended several months over schedule without the work being completed and with much of the "finished" work being done poorly, incompletely or incorrectly. Examples of problems included: Not properly following the architectural plans (e.g., incorrectly building a roof cricket causing extensive leaks and damage to interior walls); not properly protecting the original structure during construction causing extensive flooring and walls damage during inclement weather; leaving an electrical outlet in the floor in the middle of a doorway; incorrectly framing a cantalevered deck (again, ignoring the architectural plans) so within a year it was pulling apart; incorrectly installing metal roofing (including leaving several large holes in the sheathing (leaks!), not properly sealing around vents (leaks!), not using the proper tools to cut the metal panels (rusting!), etc.); breaking windows during installation and not replacing them; installing flashing without siding causing rain to literally POUR into the house during rain storms; etc. Pat ultimately walked away without installing and staining exterior siding, soffit, fascia; without installing decking and railings; without installing spiral stairs; without finishing interior trim; without replacing damaged flooring and walls; etc. After Pat abandoned my project I spent several months saving money to finish the project. I was able to hire a contractor to finish the exterior of the house. Unfortunately, my new contractor spent a large portion of his time FIXING the work Pat performed.
