It was a horrible experience from start to finish.  Ray the owner is exceptionally rude and pompous.  He does not listen or care about your concerns his only concern and only question to me is "do the have the check".  His hand was out everytime I saw him for another payment.   He only send one person every day to work on the project so it went from his stated 2-3 week completion to litterally and entire 3 mos.  I begged him to send more people and he never ever would.  He actually left me with a toilet and show for an entire month.   Can you imagine that.  I had to use the buildings toilet and shower at a friends.  He could have cared less.  He yelled and screamed at his one worker every day and fired him on one occassion, but it was not his fault he worked hard, but he was one person and how much could he do.  The work was terrible, I actually had to get rid of them before they even finished putting in the last light because I couldnt stand Ray and Leon (his partner) anymore.   Everthing was always wrong, the sink was the wrong size, the tile was wrong, the paint bubbled, they didnt order enough of anything and always had to stop to order more which he blamed on his supplier which he chose.  He constantly upped the prices, and to top it off tried to charge me $1000 extra because he didnt put the plug in the right place.  This was perhaps the most traumatic experience I ever went though.  I am a working professional in a top notch condo in NYC.  There were no surpises, I paid on time, and there were no approval problems.  If you care about your sanity and home avoid Ray and this company AT ALL COSTS.

Overall, everything went well. The project was started promptly and all necessary paperworks were completed and approved by the coop management. Leon was very professional and was able to work with the coop management because usually there are many more restrictions and rules when dealing with a coop. Leon sent 1 or 2 workers to help him everyday. They worked very hard and were very efficient. When some unexpected problems arose such as when part of the wall had to be opened up for plumbing issues, Leon was able to coordinate its repair with the building plumber and handled it very efficiently. This caused a slight delay in their completion but that was expected and not a big deal. When everything was completed, Leon checked to make sure everything was in good working order and did also did a few retouches himself so that everything looked great at the end.
