I ordered this without problem, but was never notified when it came in. When I confirmed it was in, they shipped it to their Syracuse location, where it was more convenient for me to pick up. Unfortunately, it hadn't been milled. They milled it and contacted me when it ws done. Nice piece of wood.

The owner took the time to show me all the products that might work for my ceiling. He gave me details about what types of finish products to use on the wood. he even demonstrated them for me on the spot. He gave me ball pack pricing on the spot and prepared an accurate quote for me within a few days. The material came in on time and my contractor finished it and installed. The more coats of watered based finish you apply, the better it looks.
My contractor had never heard of using poplar as a finish material. He was skeptical, but it came out looking fantastic. It's just the look I was going for.
I plan to buy maple treads, risers and stringers for my stairs next. I am getting a price from Lakeshore Hardwoods.

He has a small show room off of his storage building. The price was almost as cheap as putting the fake hardwood floors in. It was around $4.20 per square foot. The floors were prefinished so they tend to not shrink. It has been a couple of years and it is still tight. They delivered the floors, loaded it into my home and came when they said they would. I'm a big negotiator and we went with him because we were able to negotiate a good price.
