Perfection! Pumps, brakes, pads, wires, do-dads, I have had plenty of things repaired on my '06 and '03 vehicles. They know what to repair and when. They predict the costs with good accuracy, so it's never a surprise when you go to collect the car.

I called originally to get a second opinion following a visit with my usual Toyota dealer's service center which incidentally was an all day affair. Stofa's gave me a free estimate for either an after market or an OEM muffler within 15 minutes. The OEM muffler installed was 35% less than the Toyota dealer and they did it in 30 minutes. Wow! Everyone was polite and friendly. As Arnold says, "I'll be back".

I don't remember the exact cost of the oil change, but I've had tons of work done on two of my vehicles. I've taken my current car and last car to Stofa's since moving to Poughkeepsie (2008.) I have never been disappointed with the work. John is sometimes a bit gruff, but once he gets to know you as a regular customer, he will work in your best interests for sure. He sometimes does some repairs that you didn't discuss during the initial check, but they are always things that are in your best interest for sure. He's also stopped in the middle of work to check out a car that I wanted to purchase to make sure it looked good to him. I think his prices are maybe a little more than average or average, but it is well worth it for the peace of mind and great service. I would not go to another auto repair place in Poughkeepsie! You won't be disappointed! I can't tell you how many of my friends use Stofa's and have for years!

I had a constant problem with the car overheating. No one was able to correct the problem until now. Excellent job, very professional, took the time to explain everything.I was very satisfied and thank Angie's list for directing me to them.

I am relatively new to the area, and looking for a good mechanic. I brought my car to Stofa's because of the great reviews on line. I didn't have an appointment, but John came out and asked about the problem. Then took the car for a spin right there so he could hear the noise that the wheel was making. He took the car in without an appointment, and everything was finished by the end of the day. John was really nice, and very responsive to my problem. and the price was very fair. Event though you don't look forward to bringing you car into the shop, I do feel good about having a place to bring my cars that I can trust, when there is a problem.

Could not have gone any better. Called me every step of the way, Informed me what they were going to do. Said I could have it back by 2:30.. They beat that by 1 hr. Even called in my VIN # to check on my transmission for future work. Stoffas is the best auto service around.

Stofa scheduled me promptly, got the car back to me when he said. Incidentally, his was one of 3 bids I had obtained, and it was the lowest. Yet that didn't bother me because I know their reputation to be outstanding.

My car was rear-ended and the back bumper and tail light needed to be replaced. John looked at the car right away, ordered the parts needed and then painted and prepared the bumper while I was still able to use my car. When the bumper was ready, John called and I was only without a car for 24 hours. He is efficient, professional and does great work.

We brought the car into John before we did our road trip in July. He looks over all the hoses, tires and brakes. We can always trust his recomendations. He is extremely fair in his evaluations. If something does not have to be done at the present time, he will suggest waiting and fixing it at another.
They have a very loyal following and although they always have lots of work, they do not hesitate to check out a car that might have an emergency fix.

They are always precise, they do what they say they are going to do and always check with you if they find
another problem before doing any other services. They are a family owned garage and do a great job!
