I can't say enough positive things about Miguel's roofing. I contacted Miguel, via email, on 12/23 and he promptly responded on 12/24. My chimney was leaking rain water into my fireplace and into my family room. After explaining the situation to Miguel he explained what he believed the problem was and made an appointment to come to my house on 12/26. He promptly arrived at our scheduled time and looked at the problem and identified it. Due to predicted inclement weather , Miguel, went right to work. He was very professional , neat , courteous and a genuine nice gentleman. I look forward to hiring him for any of our future needs and he epitomizes the American spirit with his hard work, ethics and values. Thanks again Miguel aka Mariano Riveras twin !! ?

Miguel was wonderful!!! Honest fair and fixed the the repairs right away!!! We called two other roofers on angies list one said I needed a new roof and the the other wanted to charge us triple the price of Miguel!!!!! So glad I called him and will always recommend him and use his service!!!!! Thank you Miguel for being so honest and doing such a great job!!!!!!

1. Mr. Melara installed the gutters on Oct. 13th, 2015.  I would not hire him again to do any work on my house. 

Overall, these highlight our experience with Miguel

    Miguel installed the gutters with his main focus on having them look good.  However, I put a hose to my roof and checked the gutters. They did not drain completely. I had a 1/2inch of standing water 4 out of 5 gutters.  Why did this happen?
   
    Miguel did not snap a chalk line on the fascia to make sure of the pitch.  He eyeballed it by having the gutters only drop about 7/8th of an inch over the full run of the gutters.  This includes three 25ft runs and one 40ft run.  It is not enough. 
  
    When I had concerns about pitch, pointed out mistakes, or asked follow up questions, the answers were subversive, a lie, or incomplete. 
    I had to have Mr. Melara back for a 2nd day in order to fix the pitch of the gutters and screw in portions of the gutter he did not screw in.  This time, I made sure they were pitched correctly while he was present.  Again, MIguel did this by eyeballing it, not with any real measurement or line. 

My last experience was to be severely over charged for a downspout in the back of my house.  The estimate was $375 to remove a few deck boards, dig under the deck and install a run of 4 inch corrugated drain pipe.  My wife and I decided to opt to just run downspouts as we have had bad luck with underground drainage.  I expected the price for installing 2 extra downspouts with 2 extra elbows to be significantly less (there is no digging, grading of dirt, pitching an underground pipe, deck replacement).  Instead, Mr. Melara charged us an additional $125 to total $500.  He claims the materials cost more but 10ft downspouts are $13 compared to $6 for 10ft drain pipe.  I was to tired at the time to negotiate or recognize that I was being grossly overcharged and ripped off.  Buyer beware of this behavior.

Went very well.  Miguel was very responsive, thorough and professional.  He made time for this minor repair despite busy schedule.  Was sensitive to urgency of leak repair given imminent rain.

Very pleased with work performed and cost was very reasonable.

They were fantastic, professional, punctual, etc. They were good-hearted, friendly, professional people. Mike Melara and his wife worked as a well-coordinated team. They had two other people with them; they were very quick and we've been extremely happy with the job, their advice and the result. 

He was very punctual. Completely cleaned gutters pointed out to me sections of Yankee gutters which needed replacement and removed a number of very large branches overlooking the house causing damage to the gutters.

I had a shed and a large outbuilding which had only corrigated plastic roofs (not even plywood under it). As a result, the structures were badly water damaged. Also, I have many large trees near my home, so debris and moss was an issue on my homes roof.
Mike was very informative when he promptly replied to my call. He was much more expensive then my other estimates, however, it was worth the extra money. He explained all my options as far as materials and gutter sizes, etc. He even picked the shingle color, which matches my barn red buildings beautifully!
He started the job immediately and while he finished quickly, he was meticulous and detail oriented from start to finish. He even removed moss with a brush no bigger than a toothbrush! He did a beautiful job and I would recommend him to anyone. I need new gutters on my home and I will definitely be calling him to do the job.
If you are looking for the cheapest possible repair, than I would say this company is not for you. As I said he was more expensive than other estimates. However, if you are willing to pay a little more, you really get what you pay for. The job was absolutely beautiful. He used the best materials. He did such a nice job my sheds almost look nicer than my house. He also says that if there is ever a problem, he will fix it free of charge because he stands behind his work.

Mike was very thorough and knowledgeable. He and his assistant took their time to make sure the repairs were done correctly. The job was successful as there hasn't been any leaks in my kitchen ceiling. 

I got three estimates. One guy tried to convince me that my gutters needed to be replaced. I gave that company a very negative review. All three estimates were about the same, for repitching the gutters. But of the three guys only one actually got up on the roof to take a look, and that was Mike. That's how the faulty flashing was discovered. What's more, Mike took the time to try to figure out a good gutter cover solution for me, as I have a rolled roofing roof, meaning you can't slip gutter covers under the edge of the shingles cause there aren't any. And his price included the flashing repair. Mike was prompt, both on the estimate and the job. He and his helper did good work. 
This was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. Get Mike!

We had a kitchen that needed to have more light but my husband was hesitant on putting skylights in because he was afraid of leaking.  Mike Melara explained how the skylight systems work today and reassured him.  We had them put in on 5/3/2013 and are very happy with all the light we now have.  The 3 days of rain we recently had was a good test and my husband is iust as happy as I am with them.   Mike has done several things for us over the years, including roof repairs, and gutters.  He is always very neat, trustworthy, personable and a pleasure to have do our work.  It is very reassuring to know if we ever have a problem, he would be there to take care of it.  I do not hesitate to recommend him..Sky

I found them on Angie’s List and the concerned person is great.  He is a very good guy and came right away on the same day.  He got on the roof and took care of the problem.

They were so pleasant to work with. I loved working with them. They did a great job and I've had no problems or leaks. They were very professional.

I contacted Mike in July 2012 re a gutter leak we had from his work from the previous summer - up to this point he had been fantastic, but told me he had had an accident with the company truck, and agreed to see me the following week.  He didn't show up as agreed,  to even look at the problem, and didn't return my calls or e-mails, even after several times.  I am very disappointed as I had been one of his biggest fans in the past; now it seems to have taken a 180 degree turn.  Maybe there are other things I don't know about, but I was certainly left hanging.

They knew what they were doing.

Mike was prompt and professional for both the estimate and repair. He was honest in his availability and was able to get it repaired within 2 days of his estimate prior to his other commitments. He had to fix the fascia on both sides of the house due to Superstorm Sandy and a leak in the ceiling. He temporarily fixed the leak (coming from the window) as requested until it could be fixed by a window company. The fascia was well done and he made sure the rest was secured. I would happily recommend him again.

Mike Melara was responsive, punctual, efficient, and professional. He fixed a problem that had been created by an incompetent repair person nearly a year ago. We were very happy to have a non-leaking roof by the time Hurricane Sandy arrived. The cost was a bit more than we had expected but we assume it was reasonable in view of what was needed.

Fantastic.  I got a prompt return phone call for a roof repair job...how novel!  This was actually the 2nd time I've used these guys.  They installed my roof about 4-5 years ago (strip the old roof and shingle it).  They did a great job.  I damaged the roof boot causing a leak when ice dams occurred (ooops).  I had them out to repair it and also had gutters put on the house at the same time.  They're clean (worksite), timely, within estimate, fairly priced, and a pleasure doing business with.  I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
