Mavis Discount Tire

It cost a lot more than I expected. Everyone there is very pleasant but I had called to get a price a couple of days before which was $29 and change and then when I got there it was actually quite a bit more. They told me it was because of the kind of filter etc. As a woman, when you walk into any kind of automotive service, you might as well have a target because they could tell you anything. I had one guy put the car on the lift and say that it was all rusted, they were going to have to completely redo the brakes. They weren't even looking at the brakes. I said no, I don't have the money right now but it was like a flat out lie. They did a good job on the oil change when they finally did it. They took the car in very quickly. They are close by and for the most part they are less expensive.

I was pretty much satisfied with the work that was done.

went to have front tires taken off and snows mounted on.i told them and they said i should have a front wheel alignment.the mechanic showed me my front tires were wearing bad and thats why wheel alignments are needed.i pointed out to him they did they front wheel alignments last time and he didnt know what to say,he was speechless at this point.i had snows installed and a front wheel alignment and after 2 days i noticed the car pulling sharply to the left,i went back to midas and they told me everyone who had aligments in the last 2 days were complaining.they found out the machine was not calibrated and they also needed a new part for the wheel alignment tool.i asked the why they didnt call me at home in the last 2 days to tell me they had a problem with wheel alignments and again they had no answer,i will never go there again..its the mavis on route 9 by pricechopper.

I recommend them highly. They have a good price and always do a good job.

I go to Mavis for all of my tires. I used to go to TireRack.com, but these guys have managed to meet or beat their prices! They always have what I need in stock, or they get them within a day. They do a fine job installing them too - I haven't had a problem yet.

We were told that it would take 1.5 hrs for all the work to be completed. We gave them our number and left instructions for them to call us if there was a delay. When we returned to pick up the car, the work wasn't started. Then we told them to forget the front end alignment due to the fact that they were running an hour and a half late. We waited another hour and the tires were replaced, an inspection sticker was put on , but not the alignment. A few days later my husband was showing his friend the new tires and the friend noticed that one of the new tires was put on inside facing out. This would have compromised the wear and safety of the tire. We returned and told Mavis to remount the tire. There was no apology, and they we quick to ask us if they could do the alignment. We told them that we were very unhappy with their service and wouldn't return for any more work.

I've been there a year before when I needed new tires before I could get an inspection and they did the inspection as well. I went there again today as it was convenient as in a shopping plaza and I thought they were very friendly and provided good service. This time I just went in for an inspection. They called my husband's number and said it needed power steering fluid replaced -- my husband viewed it as an upsell, so didn't like that, but it probably needed it. The people are very friendly and perhaps one person was having a bad day or just shouldn't be working there, but he totally wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. First I noticed through that when the guy closed the hood it didn't quite shut. He didn't even notice and started to drive out of the garage, but two other mechanics stopped him, but I noticed when they shut it it still didn't seem like it closed all the way. Anyway, I couldn't get it to close right, called the mgr out who said that the guy probably was just playing with the rubber thing as it was screwed way up, he fixed it and I was on my way. Then part way driving home I heard this clunking noise and thought it sounded like my tire had a flat, but didn't feel anything. I stopped at a gas station looked at my tires which looked fine and realized the back area of the hatchback, where I assume he was checking the spare tire, was not put back right and I assumed that was making all the noise. As I drove home it started getting worse, luckily I made it home. I pretty much figured it must be that he spaced tightening the lug nuts. I went to check one tire and two were loose and went to check the other tire and all were not tightened at all - I could easily turn them -all of them on the back right tire. I called right away to alert them, they said sorry. All of this also took 3 hours to do (it was a Saturday and I said 2 hours was fine as I would run errands), but I had called first to ask how busy they were and he said to just come by. So I could have gotten into an accident if my tire fell off or damaged my wheel -- so for this, especially when they are a tire place, I can't ever go back there.

I have an old Lexus, and needed snow tires. They installed, balanced, and had my car ready and on time.

Their pricing was a little high.
