Part of my yard was flooded due to poor drainage. Chris Mazer was highly recommended by a friend to correct this problem. The plan was to replace a failed french drain. March 26, 2019 he had my disabled son write up the contract while Chris dictated what to say while I was at work. The day he received the first installment of payment he had the bank call me numerous times to clear the check for immediate cashing while I was at work. Contractors deposit checks into business accounts. Work was delayed due to wet weather. Then came excuses, he had Lyme Disease, the flu, his dump truck broke down, he was working on other projects. Each time he had my friend contact me rather than him calling me personally. Eventually equipment arrived, he dug a trench across the perimeter of my property and left a giant pile of debris. November 2019, I'm still awaiting completion of the project. He stopped returning my texts. June 14, 2020 he states he was waiting for his insurance to "kick back in." July 2, 2020, still no insurance. My last text of July 13, 2020 went unanswered. 8/5/2020 my attorney sent a certified letter to terminate the contract. I do not expect Chris to comply to the terms of agreement drawn up by my attorney. My course of action is to file a complaint and alert the public of his breach of contract, abandoning the job site and of his unscrupulous and unprofessional conduct.
