Home Inspection
Ralph Buono just doesn't know what he's doing as a home inspector. I called him on a friend's recommendation to inspect a home I was thinking of buying. First of all, he didn't get up on the roof to inspect it; in fact, there's no way he EVER gets up on a roof, it was clearly not his protocol. He also didn't use binoculars to inspect the roof. He then made a number of unbelievably dumb mistakes. For example, he commented that we hadn't yet seen the fill lines for the oil tank, and my realtor said, "um, they're right there!" Similarly, he said it was an 80 gallon hot water heater, and I looked at the sticker on it and saw it was a 60 gallon heater. He didn't notice water stains on the ceiling, and when I pointed them out, he minimized my concern. I could go on. His report was promt, and the cost reasonable, but in the end, I felt so nervous that I got another home inspection from a competent inspector, who discovered that the roof in fact is NOT in good condition. Do not use this home inspector!!
