The owner was punctual, knew exactly what to do and repaired the lock right away. 

I just spoke to Phil on the phone and discussed my situation with him. 
He actually told me I didn't need a second lock.  These days, it is very
uncommon to meet someone so honest.  So I didn't use his service,
however I could tell he was an honest and good guy.  I will definitely
use him in the future if the need arises.

First, he waited for me for half an hour as i was late. He was very friendly and gave me an honest opinion about the work that needed to be done. For the padlock he told  me he will try to find a way to fix it so i won't have to replace it. He worked on it and it works fine.  I showed him existing doors which i need to  have  a lock for and for that i wanted to change the knob completely. He taught me how to have it locked without needing to spend more money on new knob and labor. I decided to leave one of doors (the one to the garage) locked the way he showed me but the other one i wanted to change anyway. 
the next thing is that is the work on the home-office door. i asked him to change it  and also one of the bedrooms as well.  Lastly  there is the  door to the bathroom in the basement. 
He did all the work fast and professionally. Its as good as new and he also cleaned up the area after he worked. I have changed door knobs at home before. When its done by anyone other then a professional locksmith it takes much longer.
I feel self conscious as i know it sounds too good to be true but i really am not related to this person in any way and just got his number through angle's list yesterday;  i called him and right away he answered the phone and made time for the following day (this morning). 
when he finished the work i thanked him for waiting patiently and he was very cool about it,  "its part of my trade and i don't mind waiting."  Its wonderful to see that there are people like him  who are hard working, honest and  pleasant to work with. 
I absolutely recommend him to anybody who needs the an honest, knowledgeable locksmith who charges very fair. I plan to change in the future another knob and will 100% call him.
for the work he did 160 dollars is very good price. and this includes tax as well.   
He is an A lister for sure.

Phil Halpin was very good. He was attentive, patient, came when he was supposed to. He repaired my locks. I had one little problem with the lock, but I called him and he came back to fix the issue right away.

Phil, the owner, came to look at the problem locks and give an estimate. He returned as soon as the equipment arrived, a few days later. He was absolutely professional, very pleasant, personable and thorough - everything you want in a locksmith. He is very easy to work with and I'm delighted that he is nearby in case we have any other locksmithing needs. I would recommend him very strongly, with absolutely the highest rating.
