Gentle Dental

Great - although I thought they were expensive

Dr. Knakal is the sweetest and most gentle oral surgeon. He makes you feel very comfortable and he knows what he is doing. I had a dental implant put in after going through some gum surgeries due to an abcess. After the gum surgery failed Dr. Knakal told me he would credit me the money that I paid for that towards the dental implant which was very nice of him. So after about 3 years of being a chicken I finally went for it and it went so much better than I expected. I never even had to take a painkiller because I had hardly any pain at all. He is a great doctor and worth every penny!

The place is great but sometimes they seem to be a little bit pushy, kind of like trying to force you to get other services and that's the thing I kind of didn't care for. They were okay and they were friendly but when I had my appointment, I went there for like 15 minutes before my appointment and I wasn't seen until like about 15-20 minutes after my appointment. They did the job they were supposed to but the billing was a little bit of an issue.

I went to Gentle Dental when were visiting on Long Island and I cracked a tooth. The fit me in immediately, examined my tooth and put a temporary fix on it. They were careful, compassionate and reasonably priced. If we lived closer to them, now that we relocated to LI, we'd definitely use their practice.

The visit was about as unpleasant as one might expect; visits to the dentist aren't what any of us look forward to! But I once had a dentist in New Jersey, near Princeton, who was superb. She was extremely nice, and very careful about everything. She performed a bonding on my front teeth that other dentists resisted/refused to. She simply stated that, as this was a "high stress area," that I should expect that the bonding she performed would only last maybe three to six years. (It lasted eight.) So, excellence does exist. However, this place (Gentle Dental) is more of the B+ grade of provider. You may get a person who is distracted or in a bad mood, and this can add to the unpleasantness. (I am guessing that the hygenist was in a poor mood because the machines were not working properly in the first room and she thus had to relocate me into another room where the machines worked. Maybe that's why she seemed somewhat miffed when I recoiled a few times with pain or the anticipation of it.

My experience with Dr. Rosenblatt has been good so far. There is nothing that he needs to improve upon. He is very knowledgeable and I am pretty happy. His support staff is very good too. I am going to go back to see him.

Dr. Richard Rosenblatt is amazing. He saw me right away as I had a dental emergency. Wait time in his office is less than five minutes. The staff in the office are courteous. The facility is clean and the office is extremely well managed. I will continue to see Dr. Rosenblatt for my dental care needs.
