I was provided with a price for both jobs and the contract was not itemized. This was my fault for not asking for and I do realize this. After many discussions about my front stoop being a main concern because bricks were falling off, he started on our deck rather than the step. I often asked to please address the step which he said he did not want to until after the deck was finished. He started the day agreed on and left  early due to weather. We agreed he'd be back the following day around 9am and waited around in the morning for him. I had to call him to find out he was not coming. This trend continued. When we originally agreed on the job he said the deck would take 2 days and the step about 2 days weather permitting. He cancelled on a beautiful day and then proceeded to work a few hours here and there on the job. I work full time from home and have 2 little boys so this in and out was not convenient for us. I still remained cordial and did my best to be flexible. We were on a schedule as we informed him we wanted the work done by 5/2 as we were having my son's 1st birthday at the house. We hired him 3 weeks before the party and he agreed that BOTH jobs would be completed before then. About a week into him working on the deck we were fed up and told him we no longer wanted him to do the step. My wife took a day off from work so that someone was home at all times while he was working and he didn't show up until 2pm and that was after I called him. We told him that day we did not want him to do the step as he hadn't even finished the deck and we were losing trust in his ability to complete it. He changed his story and said the step was not good and needed a ton of work. After asking for a breakdown in price so that we knew what we were paying for the deck he became upset. He claimed that the step was only about $200 of the job leaving the deck and a replacement dryer vent for a whopping $2300. We did not feel that this was a fair price. I asked him to sit down and discuss the contract with myself and my father as discussing with him via phone did not go well. He got defensive and told me that it was actually offensive to ask for an itemized bill. After much back and forth we agreed on taking off $375 from the bill as he was not going to do the step. He worked on the deck that day. He finished staining and priming the main parts of the deck. He then told me he'd be back to finish the next morning. When he arrived that morning, I walked outside to ask some questions regarding detail work that needed to be completed. He left backs of furniture unstained and the stain job was sloppy with area of old stain still visible. When I asked him about finishing the work he informed me "we don't do that" meaning they don't stain the backs and insides and underneaths of things. Mind you my deck was gray before and was now stained brown. It looked awful with the gray paint showing through. He then told me he'd leave a can of stain for us to complete those areas. I became very upset as I needed to make my last payment on a job that I was overcharged for AND was not finished. It wasn't until I became upset in my backyard and called my father on the phone that he offered to finish the work. All while he was moving my outdoor furniture and broke a piece of the table. He did stay and complete the job but not without conflict. I would not recommend this company. 

I am so happy with the work that was done they were fast and the owner was there from the time I got the estimate and was on site every day, which made me feel very comfortable. Work was perfect, my home looks brand new! Waited so long to do this and couldn't be happier with the price and the amazing work! Also decided to renovate the bathroom after I saw how well the work was going on the outside of the house. Turned out great!!! I highly recommend Linesider Construction!!

It was unbelievable. He is without a doubt one of the best carpenters I have ever dealt with. He does great carpentry work and is very thorough. I have not had a problem since it was done. He was less than I would have paid with someone else.
