Island Springs Irrigation

Unfortunately this is the first issue we've experienced with an Angies List provider. We used Island Spring Irrigation to winterize our system for the past 2 years, as well as had them replace, and adjust several heads on 2 different occasions. The services provided and prices charged were acceptable until we turned our system on for the first time this year to find a burst in the backyard line, caused by the line freezing over the winter as a result of the provider only blowing down 1 of the 2 zones. Our first call to Island Springs on Saturday (during business hours) went unanswered. Although we left a voicemail on Saturday, we only received a call back after a second message was left on the following Tuesday. In addition to repairing the line damaged as a result of their not blowing down the zone, we also wanted 3 sprinkler heads moved, and another added, to accommodate the design of our new driveway and walkways. Despite the provider being at fault for the damage to our sprinkler line, whoever answered the phone at Island Springs informed us no appointments were available for almost 2 weeks. While the additional work we wanted done could wait if the provider's time is truly that limited, there is no suitable excuse for not coming immediately to fix the the damage caused by them. We informed Island Irrigation that we would be forced to take our business elsewhere if they could not make time for us this week and received a response that indicated the opposite of customer appreciation. As an owner of a small, service providing business, I am very familiar with the challenge of "not enough hours in a day"; however; I would never make that my client's problem. On the positive side, their prices are more than fair, but what you don't pay monetarily, you will pay in a lack of professionalism and quality.

I have a six zone in-ground lawn irrigation system, four front zones and two back zones. The past two years the two back zones have not worked. I decided to call Island Springs Irrigation because they are a local company, I wasn't happy with the company I had used in the past, and the positive reviews on Angie's List. I was not disappointed.

When I called to set up an appointment, the receptionist was very professional and friendly. The day of the appointment the two workers showed up on time, listened as I explained the problem, and then examined the system. Two very respectful and nice guys. They found the problem after ten or fifteen minutes and fixed it right away. I thought that they would have to replace two solenoids, but it turned out that two years ago, the last company I used had crossed some wires, thereby making the two solenoids inoperable. They could have replaced the solenoids and charged me for them, but they didn't. Very honest!

I have definitely found an honest, prompt, and reliable irrigation company in Island Springs.

One of the sprinkler heads broke off from snow plowing. Called to make appointment for repair on 4/9/13 and techniciams were able to come out the following day. Technicians Alex and Joe arrived on time and installed the replacement head. They carefully checked complete system operation (six watering zones) and found two other heads that needed replacement due to slight leakage and poor coverage and promptly did the work. They also adusted the spray pattern of some of the heads. The techs were very thorough and efficient and very pleasant to deal with. We've used Island Springs for several years. They have always done good work at a reasonable price and this job was no exception -- very pleased.

The hole job from start to finish went great. They were on time,and did a great job cleaning up when the hole job was done. You couldn't even tell with the lawn they were there when done. They also took the time to go over on how to set the timer clock up and program it. The crew that did the job was great on setting up all the heads that they reach ever spot of the lawn.

It's always best... and least costly.... when a problem is solved via advice over the phone. The owner suggested a logical solution and it worked. Couldn't be more pleased.

On-time, On-price, great work. In the world of off again on again sprinkler companies these guys stand out.

Excellent. The owner of the company came out to do the job. He trenched around the cut water lines and sprinkler heads to raise them, made new trenches for rerouting the lines and repositioning the heads in front of the shrub area, skillfully reconnected the lines and heads, neatly repacked and graded the soil that had been removed, and then tested the sytem to ensure full water pressure and proper head function. He then winterized the entire sprinkler system by using a compressor in his van. The compressor and air line looked like well-maintained units which gave me confidence that the system was fully depressurized for the winter. Overall, this was an experienced person who knew what he was doing and did the job quickly and efficiently. The cost for water line and head repair and relocation was $60 which I thought was very reasonable and the cost for winterization was $45 which is about the average for sprinkler companies in the area.
