I needed someone I can depend upon and someone I can trust. There are a lot of electricians in my area but I didn’t want to take a chance. So I called Angie’s List and they said because I don’t have a computer I had to pay them $100 for the list. I sent the $100 and when the list came it was one name. I called and have him came over the house and he gave me some cock and bull story about this and that. When he got through changing my little heat unit under my kitchen sink and told me it wasn’t compatible with my thermostat. Instead of just taking the thermostat off the wall he took my thermostat apart and the pieces were falling all over the place. Needless to say he couldn’t put the genie back in the bottle again. He said he was going to have to get me a new thermostat and come back. He left the house when I went over to check the heat it was on and I had no way to check it because my thermostat was wrong. So I ran out and bang on his truck and said you have to turn that thing off. He comes in the house and he went down my basement and he shut it off at the main. He said he will get in touch with me because he has to order a thermostat. This all happen back in June, at least 5-6 weeks. Needless to say, he has never called me back. To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly. I had to call another electrician to fix it. This was a disaster, I had to pay Angie’s List $100 just to get his name and he charged me $1000 when he came to the house. I wanted someone dependable and reliable and he left my house with the heat on broken, what was I supposed to do. I am very disappointed. He said I was getting a discount and he calculated and said $999. I have saved $200.

CSF Electric was recommended by a friend.  I couldn't be happier.  My mom needed some work done to the electrical box for her pool.  I called CSF Electric in the morning, and Cindy was extremely helpful.  She scheduled my appointment for later that afternoon.  Craig called and was at the house within the two hour appointment window.  Craig diagnosed the problem, and I made an appointment for the following week.  Again, Craig was right on time.  Prompt, polite, courteous, and professional.  An absolutely stellar company!!!  Highly recommended!!

They did a very good job. They knew exactly what they where doing. The wiring was on the exterior of the chandelier. The wiring was frayed but they were able to add to it and correct the problem. It was 3 of the 6 lights that were affected. They also gave me a senior citizen discount.

My lights were flicking and I had an outdated electric box. They first came to estimate the cost.  They advised me also to upgrade to 200Amps. It was expensive. However,  I preferred to pay more and have a good quality installation. They changed the electric box, upgraded to a bigger one, changed the wiring from the electrical company, and installed a new pole in the roof.
Everything went smooth and I did not have any problem since then.

After trying to access my Angie's List app which for some reason was not working, I requested a recommendation for a licensed electrician through a community group I belong to. I was then referred to CSF Electrical, Inc. at the time, I was unaware CSF was on Angie's List and this information was not realized until all was said and done, couple of days later. After some texts were exchanged between Craig (owner) and I he said he would waive the "Dispatch Fee" of $69.00 to come to my house. He arrived late in the evening, and after some diagnostic testing, which incidentally took approximately five minutes, he came to the conclusion that the outside 20 Amp receptacle needed replacing. He never indicated to me there would be a charge to diagnose the timer in my basement, and he didn't clue me in to how much it would cost to replace the receptacle (prior to the diagnostic test). The diagnostic test was $231.00!!! He said if I decided not to use him, he would charge me for the Dispatch Fee $69.00 PLUS the 5-minute Diagnostic Test $231.00. At that point he said the cost to replace the receptacle (mind you it was just the 3-prong piece inside an outdoor electrical box) was $349.00 excluding tax!!! I reluctantly gave him the job as I figured it would have cost me $300.00 to wave bye-bye. He didn't have the part needed so he went to Home Depot to get it. Spent $75.00 there and when I questioned him about the cost of a receptacle and front plastic replacement cover he took out his calculator to show me that he's suppose to make 14% on materials! I wanted him to know that I was aware how little the replacement parts cost. He was a bit arrogant about my questioning him about the cost of materials. He then decided to deduct $55.00 off the cost of the job, and rewrote the invoice for $291.00!!! Imagine my surprise in speaking to a friend tonight (6/6) whom had the exact same service done by a different electrician and it only cost him $30.00 with no "dispatch fee"!!! To say, I AM FURIOUS is a huge understatement....most especially because he knew I am a single mother recently widowed with 2 kids to support. I'd also like to add, I did the footwork...running up and down a flight of stairs several times to turn off the breaker and turn it on again while he was outside.

UPDATE 6/11/15:

CSF Electric got wind of my dissatisfaction and telephoned me twice on 6/8. I requested a partial refund of $147.00. Instead, Craig authorized a full refund for $291.00. A check arrived, Priority Mail Express on 6/10.

CSF came highly recommended to me by members of a local Facebook community.  They arrived at my house at the scheduled time, showed me prices in writing for the jobs they were going to perform, and listened to all of my concerns.  Typically in NY you'll get an electrician just randomly give you a price but with CSF, everything was on a placard explaining the level of service and the cost.  They worked with me to design a plan to fix my electrical issues that were causing both my washer and dryer to constantly trip the breaker.  It turns out they were on a jury rigged electrical line that the previous owner of my house ran (incorrectly).  I also asked them for a safety inspection for a hot tub that had been disconnected, and they made sure to fix that.  Also, they ran a new electrical line into my master bathroom so that it would no longer be connected to the other two bathrooms in the house.  The technician was professional and made sure I knew exactly what was going on, and got my approval for any additional work necessary.  The owner Craig showed up at my house to introduce himself and we went over some additional problems spots that I want to take care of in the future.  They really worked with me on price and I am very appreciative, because I originally thought this was a fairly simple and inexpensive job, but it turned out to be more than I expected, with regard to time and the length of time it took to fix.  They were even flexible enough to take three different forms of payment from me (a check, a gift card, and a Visa card) and did that without complaint.  I will definitely use them again for any electrical work needed in my home.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, Craig showed up on time, with clean uniform, booties for inside, etc.  Diagnosed the problem, fixed it quickly, labelled everything clearly and explained it all to me.  Also- unlike a lot of electricians, he has someone in an office taking calls.  I had to leave for a few minutes within his 2 hour window to pick up my daughter from school.  I called the office, and she told him.  No problem.  This is my new electrician!

Craig was professional coming to my door with his uniform on, business card in hand, booties on his feet.  Craig was polite and personable while working.  He diagnosed the problem and spent some time checking for other possible causes.  He was very thorough.  Craig found a wire outside that went to a breaker and didn't like what I had to say about it.  He dug it up and took care of it.  He wouldn't even let me help dig.  Needless to say I have a new electrician.  His prices are laid out very clearly and fair.  I totally recommend Craig Fazio of CSF Electric to anyone needing an electrician.  I have some additional work I need done in the near future.  It's very reassuring to know that I have a professional who's not making up prices as he goes along to do an important job.  Thanks Craig!

Wow, it was awesome, They really took the time to do everything right. I mean from the beginning to the end the owner of the company and his team were in my house taking great care to make sure they were quick and had minimal impact to my day. They even traced out where all the circuits went in my house and provided me a map. The price was a bit more then the competition but it was worth it.
When you do alot of contracting with home improvement like i do, You come across guys who kind of know what they are doing and guys who just know it like the back of their hand. Craig is the kind of guy that will take what you want to happen and make sure it gets done right. He knows his stuff.
