They were fantastic and professional from beginning to end. Doug Harrison came by to see what I needed and explained the Trane system that would be best. He and everyone were involved were terrific and their price quote beat everyone else by far. The men worked on a super hot day and got everything installed, and running in just one day. They removed the the old equipment and took everything away leaving my home as neat as can be - great guys who did great work. I highly recommend Artic Mechanical!

On the hottest week of the summer our AC unit shut down and we thought it was going to be impossible to get a service call. Upon contacting Arctic Mechanical, Christina was able to quickly arrange an appointment for us. Gideon arrived on time, was very professional, friendly, and willing to explain the problem thoroughly while discussing options for our next steps. When comparing pricing to other companies, Arctic was EXTREMELY reasonable and we know the work was done properly as our system is functioning more efficiently and quietly than it has been over the past few years. We will be customers for life!

They installed a new furnace and AC. Very happy with the work performed, especially the installers, the salesperson who made sure to follow up after the fact and the owner, who even took the time on a Satruday, to come and look at an issue that was not related to their work.

The good: friendly employees, appointment fit my schedule, arrived promptly. For various reasons could not repair my system. That I could understand, some sort of safety concern. But to charge $199 for a 10 minute visit and solve absolutely nothing is preposterous They should have charged about $50 for this visit. Rip offed. Very disappointing experience, I would avoid them.

Awful, they spent 15 minutes to tell me the unit should be replaced and charged lots of money
Response from Arctic Mechanical

"I am the Senior Manager (Jeffrey) at Arctic and I have personally looked into you complaint. Here is what I found. First the last time we were at your residence was January 29, 2014. Not 12/12/16. Also from the GPS we have in the van I show it was at your location for [Member Information Removed] hour 10 minutes. Not the 15 minutes you stated above. The reason for the visit was that you have (2) PTAC heating and a/c units that haven't been serviced in ~3 years (you shared with us). You also noted that the heat isn't heating a well as in past years. We verbally quoted you the cost to maintenance both units and you agreed, scheduled appointment and noted you would be paying by check when done. Here is what the technician found "Technician performed winter maintenance to living room unit, unit is working but compressor is making bad noise, sound like it is on its way out. The bedroom unit technician found it to have a bad compressor, need to replace unit. We followed this work with a quote to replace the bedroom unit. Replacement unit not approved. If you wish to discuss this matter in further detail Please feel free to call me direct at 914-934-8301. PS I did leave you a voice message to your home phone and sent an email to discuss further yesterday 12/13/16. Not reply yet."

This company does a bad job, charges thousands of dollars, then wants thousands more when they cant figure out what they did wrong, so they want to do it all over.
A few years ago I asked for a specific furnace to replace my ageing furnace in the middle of winter. They came to replace it  and after taking out the old furnace and placing the new one, I noticed the new furnace was not what I asked for.  I pointed it out and asked for the model I wanted. Luckily I had it all in writing and they had to comply but I had to wait for  the new one to come in with no heat for a few days. They had to get sub contractors to do the job because they were too busy. Then there were a lot of corners cut, like the all house humidifier wasn't setup for another week. A lot of the work was sub par and I've had to fix it up over time. Things like no insulation on the holes to the outside. A lot of leakage on the holes they made on the ducts, lose wiring, etc..
Anyhow, the last straw was this spring when the furnace stopped working. I called them and they came and tried some half a** fix and then told me the furnace had to be replaced. This is a very expensive furnace that is only a few years old. My family and I froze for a few days while I contemplated what to do and how to pay for a new furnace. Then I got the smart idea to get a second opinion. The other company came, showed me how the half assed fix was not needed and got the furnace working.  If I had gone with another company, I am confident I wouldnt have had so many issues.

Response from Arctic Mechanical

"This statement by this customer is totally inaccurate. I have tried to reach out to the customer several times to see why he would make such a bad statement about the company. He will not return my call. The true facts are as follows. We were called on an emergency call on a Saturday afternoon for " no heat" and found several different issues. We instructed the home owner, that he would have to pay for the emergency service call, even if we couldnt get the unit working that weekend. [member name removed]refused to pay us for our services and on several occasions attempted to bargain with us to get the cost reduced. We finally reduced the cost to $100.00 from $225.00, and he still refused to pay. After going back and forth with out billing dept, he finally paid the $100.00. This is a customer that has completed lied about the true circumstances of this case. As for the statement of using a " sub contractor" to install the new furnace, that is completely untrue. We have 21 mechanics and installers that work for our company and never sub out any work. As for installing the wrong model furnace, we installed exactly what was on our contract. In closing, [member name removed] is a customer that basically did not want to pay for a service call and used every excuse in the book to try to threaten Arctic Mechanical so that we would credit his entire bill. . I strongly reject his statements. If any homeowner has any questions regarding this response, they can call me directly at 914-879-9425. My name is Mark Pauletti ,and Im the owner of Arctic Mechanical ,and I was the service technician that was on this call. I have all the information needed to discredit [member name removed]. Thank you..."

We recently installed a new Heating and Air-conditioning system in our house. Arctic Mechanical came highly recommended by  several friends and neighbors. During the due diligence process this company stood out for being the most knowledgeable and professional, and of course it also helped that they were installing the best system for the lowest price.  I immediately felt at ease knowing I?m in good hands.
Arctic Mechanical did an A+ job. From beginning to the end Arctic staff was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and flexible. They completed the work on time and fully delivered on their promise.  We are very pleased with the system and the service Arctic Mechanical provided. Our calls are always answered and handled with the upmost respect.
We are going to continue to use Arctic Mechanical for regular maintenance and strongly recommend them to all our friends, family and neighbors.

Our maintenance technician was extremely professional, personable and competent.  He informed us of every task he was executing during the maintenance process. He also provided findings and recommendations which is extremely valuable.  We appreciate Arctic Mechanical, especially the owners-Mark and John for the company they represent.  Highly recommend Arctic Mechanical!

These guys are great.  They did the removal and re-installl in two days as promised.  They worked clean and did a great job.  They were more than happy to run through the operation of the equipment and re-visit when we had questions.  Arctic handled all the paperwork and filings with the the city and with the utility.  They delivered on everything that they promised and even sent me a box of hard to find size filters.  The units work very well.

I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend or relative.

Arctic Mechanical first came out on June 10 to diagnose the problem with my air conditioner and fix it. They told me I needed a new condenser and added freon. I paid $200 for this visit. Later, I called them back to schedule an appointment to install a new condenser. On July 13, they came out to install the condenser. I paid $2500 for this visit. After the condenser was installed, my air conditioner still had problems maintaining a cool temperature in my home. On July 20, I called Arctic Mechanical out and they diagnosed a bad thermostat. On July 21, they came out and replaced the thermostat. Later that day, my air conditioner was still not working properly, so I had them come out again to put my old thermostat back. At this time, I was presented a bill for $325. I told the technician I did not want to pay before speaking with the owner.  I spoke the owner the next day and he came out. He told me I did not have to pay for any more charges. He said the condenser was not the problem. The problem was an expansion valve, and he ordered the part. On July 26, they came out and installed a new expansion valve. On August 10, I spoke with the owner about being unhappy with paying for the condenser when it wasn’t broken. He told me he would check his records about the charges and would call me the next day. I have not heard from him since.
Response from Arctic Mechanical

"We installed a new condensing unit for the customer because the unit had high pressure caused by bad valves. After replacing the unit we found the valved were damaged by the TXV. We installed the TXV free of charge. Customer believes the condenser was not bad. He did not accept my explanation which is 100% truthful and honest. Arctic Mechanical has a great reputation in the tri-state area and will not allow a customer to fraudulently make a claim against our integrity. Mark Pauletti, owner"

Our furnace started coming in May as the weather turned warmer. A techician looked at it in July, said it was a faulty thermostat but it was too hot to install and test a new one. Called back in Sept. when the gas valve to the furnace started leaking. The valve was replaced within several days and a new thermostat was put in. A week later (still warm weather) the furnace turned on. After several phone calls, another techician came, put in another thermostat. It didn't work. He then tested the wiring and found a short. He left, taking the termostat with him, saying it was a two man job to put in new wiring. Again, after several more phone calls, another techician showed up (2 hrs late) without tools, and tried to snake the new wiring through the wall. The wire snapped; he suggested either breaking down the plaster to open the wall or installing the thermostat in the hallway next to the stairs and adjusting for the drafts from the front door. I didn't like either idea, asked him to leave, called my electrician and had the wiring correctly done.

We are delighted with our new A/C system, which also acts as an additional heating source on the coldest nights in the winter. The price was reasonable, compared to other quotes we received for other types of A/C systems (ducted, high velocity, etc.) and we were pleased that they were able to offer financing so we could pay it off over time. The system itself is relatively inconspicuous, and the wires were run through the attic to keep them as out of the way as possible. That meant more work for them, but looks better overall. Also, they came out after it was installed to show me how the system worked, and were really lovely to speak to, and patiently walked me through how to setup the automatic settings. I would definitely recommend them to install an A/C system.
