American home shield sent these folks to our place. We have the money to American home shield and this older guy arrived. He somehow instead of replacing the compressor jerry rigged the old compressor. The older man was extremely sexist and would not speak to me. He told me to have my husband call him. He was very rude and screamed at me. I could not wait for him to get out of my house. Will never work with this awful firm again.

In early January, 2014 I called Central Appliance to say that I needed to replace three lights bulbs on my Subzero (purchased in 2010) and that I wanted to replace the water filter as well. They sent their repairman Jake out to my home (1/7/14) to look at the refrigerator because they said they have never heard of my model number. Jake said he would order four bulbs and a water filter and he took a $100 deposit, saying that they should arrive within a week. No word from Central Appliance. 2 weeks later (1/22/14) I called to find out the status and spoke to Margaret. She said the bulbs were in but the water filter was on back order and that she would call and find out when the filter was due to arrive. Margaret never called. 8 days later I called back again and this time spoke to Donna. Donna said they filter was still on back order but that she would find out when it was due to arrive for me and since I was disgusted with them she arranged for Jake to come and replace the light bulbs that had been out for a month. Jake came on 1/31/14 and took care of the bulbs and said they would be in touch about the water filter. It is now MARCH 29th and I am still waiting for the water filter. I haven't received a single phone call from them and they obviously have no clue what they're doing if they don't follow up on outstanding orders for their clients. I left a message for them today asking for my money back. We'll see how that goes. My advice is to stay away from Central Appliance because their customer service is atrocious and they are clueless. And by the way, I just called Subzero and they told me the water filter is in stock.

As we all know, bad things happen at the worst time. I came home Friday night and realized my refrigerator was not working. The only thing that was working was the light. With the cost of food especially meat time is critical. I'm a person who can fix some things but after a few hours realized it was out of my hands. Saturday morning I went on Angie's started reading reviews and making phone calls. I called two places one said it was a Jewish holiday and the best they could do was Monday. The next was suppose to open at 8AM on Saturday I left a message at 8:10AM and they called back at 10:40AM.  I called Central Appliance Parts & Service. I talked to a cordial person and after checking with her technician gave me an appointment between 1PM-4PM. At 1:10PM Lyle showed up. He went right to work and after 45minutes repaired the refrigerator as good as new. Fortunately for me no parts were needed. I was happy that I was able to call a service at 9AM on a Saturday and have the service representative in my kitchen at 1PM. Will I use them again? You bet I will. Very honest and reliable.

In August of 2012 our Thermador 30? double wall oven stopped working. As a result, we called Bosch (Thermador) to see if they could diagnose the problem over the phone. They could not, and instead, gave us a list of Bosch repair people they recommended in our area.
Among the list was Central Appliance Parts. They came, assessed the problem and charged us nearly $1000 for parts and labor to fix it. To replace the ovens would?ve been closer to $3000 or $4000. Fortunately parts and labor were guaranteed for 1 year as written on our receipt.
Eleven months later the oven started to go again, so we called Central again and he came out. But he could not replicate the problem without food in the oven, because the steam rising off of the food is what is causing the control panel to fail (same issue he said caused it a year ago). So apparently, a year ago, he should?ve also addressed the seal, but did not.
So, he claimed that everything is working and that he cannot return the parts, because they are functioning. But for an oven not to function properly when food is in it (the normal use for an oven) should be in violation of the guarantee and thus covered.
He told us to take it up with Bosch. So I did. Now this might be hard to believe, but when I reported the issue to Bosch, they told us that the repairman was NOT a certified Bosch repairman and that they would not cover the issue. We reminded them that THEY were the ones who gave us this name and they denied it! Telling us to take it up with Central.
I immediately asked to speak to the highest ranking supervisor who told me the same thing, and if I wanted, I could write corporate to complain, but they weren?t going to do anything to honor their own mistake. Even though they had a record of our call to them a year ago!
Upon calling Central back, they refused to take ownership of the problem and said they would charge us for any additional work on the oven. Not honoring their guarantee.
Additionally, the constantly rude and useless receptionist accused us of fraud, saying it was suspicious that the oven just happen to break again right before the guarantee expired.
What kind of service is this? I STRONGLY urge you to avoid both Bosch and Central. Both are horrendous when it comes to customer service, not to mention morality.

Central Appliance was very professional, and truly cared about performing the repair the right way.  Many companies claim to know how to service high-end appliances, but actually have no idea.  Central Appliance knew how to handle my Viking Refrigerator.  The technician was very professional, caring, arrived a couple of times right when he was supposed to arrive, and went out of his way to make sure the repair was handled properly.  I would highly recommend this company.

The first three repairman never showed up.  Only one called.  The fourth person was fantastic.  I would only use them again because of the last person.  He was very professional.

Steve, the technician, was able to locate the hard-to-get parts prior to the repair work and performed this extremely difficult job perfectly. Even his clean-up was meticulous. Overall, I found dealing with the entire organization to be a great experience...from scheduling to parts acquisition to completion of the job. This is the 2nd time I've dealt with this company and I would recommend them without reservation to anyone needing major appliance repair in the Westchester County area
