The exact amount you paid, via Visa card, was $225.00(please check your statement). Which was for an inspection, pictures & an estimate for any repairs needed. That is exactly what was done, given & paid for. I am sorry that you feel the price is high, and again please check your statement as were not charged $295.00. If you research you will find that our pricing is extremely competitive and fair for these types of inspections. If you moved forward with the purchase of the home, we wish you the best of luck. I had estimates from 4 different companies ranging from $1500 to $4000 to replace the chimney liner.
E&M was the winner. They replaced the liner with no problem.
This company lost a customer. For a company that advertises that they pride themselves on customer satisfaction, they have a strange way of showing it.
Update: 4/20/2013. The company refunded the money I paid to have the leak sealed.
"We returned every phone call and email. We told him if the leak persisted that he needed extensive roof repair, but that weather permitting we'd be back to re-seal the area. I spoke with him again in the last month and told him when the weather was over 55 degrees and it didn't rain for more than 2 days straight we would come back and re-seal the area, but before we could even do that he called again. I did tell him again that if for any reason it doesn't help we will refund your money and then I explained again that he would need extensive roof work, his answer was "everyone eventually needs a new roof". I then knew the only way to satsify him was to send him a full refund, he said that would be fine. Told him we would give him a full refund, which was $350.00, and we did! He received the check and cashed it within the last week. And now he has the nerve to write this kind of review! I want to know what I can do about this completely unfair review, and the only negative review we've ever received on Angie's List? I am appalled that after you refund someones money in full and they said that would be fine, that can be allowed to write such a review about your company. We've been in business 20 years, for a reason! We always strive to help and satisfy our customers. We give someone a full refund, which they say would be fine and that would be the end of it and satisfy him, and now get this review. It's just not right."
My chimney will need to be rebuild and they advised that it would not be urgent and I should consider the work of the 2nd chimney in spring. I greatly appreciated the honesty and not being pressured into having the work done immediately. They get my vote!!
