The tour, with the history of use of different wood species over time, is worth the trip even if you don't buy any wood! 2. Bring pictures of the space for which you need wood Don't: Come with preconceptions about the wood species you'll choose. We thought we wanted pine. Turned out we wanted spruce!
Description of Work: David Chittick at Antique and Vintage Woods: 1. Told us our existing floor is spruce, not pine, as we'd thought 2. Explained which woods were in common use, and for which applications, at the time our house was built 3. Gave us a tour of the warehouse, explaining how A&VW acquires its stock and showing us lumber in different phases of finishing 4. Recommended wood species to consider to achieve a look appropriate to our old house 5. Showed us finished samples of installed flooring 6. Gave us an excellent price on the wood we chose 7. Arranged delivery 8. Followed up to ensure we were satisfied
