Please don’t hire this company as they will take hound you for money then walk off the job leaving it barely done. Rich makes “promises” and then goes back on his word. What was done was poor quality and overpriced. Don’t sign any contracts. Stay away!!! Can’t show photos of no work.

we hired Woodchip to do a huge renovation job, 7 figures only to find him unproffessinal, poor quality work, constant delays. WC is undercapitelized and asked for advance payment on weekly bases. we were stuck as major demolition took place already. we were named in the suit by his electrcian for non-payment and a lien was placed on our property.

This construction company is the worst business we have ever dealt with. The work was bad quality, and much of the work had to be redone by other sub contractors to fix the damage that Woodchips left either undone of wrong. They were paid and they didn't deliver. They were unreliable and sloppy and poor operators, very very bad experience indeed

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! Woodchips motto should be, "another client another LIEN on a house" I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. I found them because they left a flyer in my mailbox. We needed tree work done in our backyard and were looking for someone to help us with that. Rich Spoto the owner of this company came out to assess the property & the work that was needed - He clearly took note of some other things as well. I gave them a check in mid April for the deposit and they said within 2 weeks we should be good to schedule. 2 weeks came and went and I called back, their receptionist explained that it should be within a week that someone would be out there. By now, my deposit has been cashed for a month. I finally got so frustrated I called back and said quite frankly this is feeling like a scam, are you guys coming out or not? They finally came about 5 weeks after the check was cashed. We signed & discussed work for 2 days. Rich’s worker put in a full 8 hours on the first day and shows up at 12:15pm on the 2nd day and worked until 5pm. So, given that we agreed on a 2 day contract & he only put in 5 hours on the 2nd day, we figured ok this guy is going to finish up the following day. He ends up coming again at 12pm and staying until 5. So at this point, he has worked 18 hours. We were ok with it even though it was over what we discussed because he did a good job and he did legitimately work 18 hours. Well, then I receive an updated contract to sign and Rich added on an entire 3rd day saying that they have documented 25 hours. I was shocked, I tried to explain the times and dates that his worker came, that we only discussed and signed a 2 day contract - because that’s all we budgeted for and he sent back e-mails that barely made sense. We explained we would absolutely be willing to pay for the 18 hours but 25 hours did not make any sense. We have text messages with he worker he had on-site asking where he was, passed 12pm on the second day. It gets worse… I then get an email telling me he is putting a LIEN on our property. Insanity! This guy is a complete scam artist. I’ve now seen a bunch of reviews that are stating he did the same thing to other people. He has fake reviews up on multiple companies that he has started, what a joke. He lost so much business, because there were 4 other people on my road that asked to pass his information on if we had a good experience. Woodchips is so not worth the headache & there are so many other “construction” / tree removal companies out there.

There were many mistakes made that the Rich Spoto and his company, Woodchips, refused to rectify. He did admit later, during arbitration, that he 'winged it' even though he was given the full manufacturer's manual on slab prep and installation. He sent his accomplice, Lisa Finerow to demand final payment even though the job was not completed. Due to her pressure, I accidently overpaid, yet they put a lien on my property and refused to finish the work. After hearing that he would be dropped from Home Advisor, Rich Spoto agreed to arbitration. The arbitrator ruled in my favor, yet he has not refunded my money, removed the lien, or given me the warranty info on the items he (supposedly) installed. Apparently he is on ANGI, and is now being recommended to cheat and bully other unsuspecting customers.

Not well at all. The job was never completed, although Woodchips demanded full payment.
Response from Woodchips Construction Inc
"This customer was the customer from h*** from day one. This customer refused to make her contract payment and demanded we finish and then she would pay the payment and her final payment at the same time. She wanted to change the terms of her contract when the job was 95 percent done. We are now suing her and her home is liened."

entire job done It was do well as far as new insulation sheet rock and flooring that I purchased. bathroom there were situations that developed that were never corrected. specifically: We had wanted a heated floor put under tile work . after us paying for the imported tile and it was put over the heating coils ( no rubberized insulation under to isolate from slab) . entire job done only then was it determined that the floor heat wasn't working. now we are left without what we wanted and a useless thermostat in wall.
