What makes Tree Image the best is that DJ is super knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction to care for the trees on your property. DJ isn't going to try and tell you to cut all your trees down to make a buck. The crew was cutting down a neighbor’s tree and when they were finished I went out and talked to DJ and asked about the trees on my property. Immediately he walked through with me, educating me on the trees in my yard, what was dead, what could be saved, and gave me a price. The crew was available and stayed on site and took down a tree that was about to split in half and cleaned up a couple of others right then. You won’t find pricing better than this anywhere. I asked him about a Japanese maple I was trying to save, he even gave me pointers on that tree and others and seemed happy to do it too!!! It’s clear they love what they do and do an amazing job at keeping all elements in mind. Saved my yard from being tore up, just an overall great experience and of all the contractors I've worked with DJ and his team are by far the most personable and best at what they do.

DJ and his team were SUPERB! Their quality of work was excellent, they showed up exactly on time, with enthusiasm, the price was right, and they truly went above and beyond the defined job. I had a tree removed and stumped, but they also removed old limbs from another tree, cleared debris off the cable lines, cleaned my gutters (that were beneath the tree), and raked ALL the leaf debris from my lawn and patio! They even left a bit of mulch for me to use in my gardens next spring. :) DJ truly has the knowledge, professionalism, and drive to lead a talented team. He was a pleasure to deal with, and able to accommodate my quick timeline. I will be whole-heartedly recommending DJ and the Tree Image team to anyone who needs tree work completed!! A+

DJ and his crew were very professional and worked together like clockwork. DJ has a true love for nature and preserving. That impressed me. It's more than a job to him, it's his passion.

The owner, DJ, was super. Came out, gave estimate. Was $100 less than two other very reputable companies. Gave many helpful hints at what we could do to plant in place of the trees in soil that would be very acidic from 35 years of spruce trees; also looked at other trees in back yard, explained to us why they were still in good health and didn't need any trimming even though they are very formidable in size - he had ample opportunity to try to "sell" us on more work, but did not try. Just a genuine, hard working guy who takes a lot of pride and, dare I say it, joy, in his work. He fit me in very quickly, provided insurance certificates without question. I would hire him again in a heart beat. Also, I noted another review that said he is difficult to get in touch with. Yes and no. His voice mail was full when I first called, which turned me off a bit. But he called me back very quickly (caller ID). He explained that he is a small company - true - so he is on the job everyday doing it all (answering calls, giving estimates, and performing all the work). So, if you don't get him the first time you call, wait, or text that number. He will get back to you!

DJ came by to give us an estimate and describe the work he would do; I texted him our agreement to go ahead with the work -- his voicemail was full! He (and his crew) came out when he said he would and did the work. They did a good job and cleaned everything up! The only non-excellent thing about his business is the full voicemail, as I see other reviewers have mentioned -- try texting!

Work done in timely, professional manner. Went above and beyond in all work done. Excellent, careful and complete removal AND cleanup. Would recommend highly. Already gave card out to neighbors who asked for it.

DJ and his crew did a fantastic job. I wanted to get our leaning pine tree taken care of quickly before it fell on our neighbors shed and DJ rearranged his schedule to take care of it that day. He also did an excellent job trimming our ash tree. The company he suggested I call about our Hemlock's recommended we replace them rather than pay $300 a year every year. The price he charged for all this work was the lowest of all the quotes and avoiding treating the Hemlock's is going to save a lot of money. We needed an arborist and I'm grateful we found DJ.

DJ ( owner of Tree Image ) and I determined the most effective way of communicating was via text messages. Once we decided on Tree Image, I texted DJ and suggested several dates in the following week. DJ picked one and told me he and his crew would be there about 8AM. Everyone was there by 7:55AM including the crane operator. They immediately got to work, protected my yard from the weight of the crane and removed the entire tree. This involved significant climbing, cutting and removing large pieces with the crane. The entire job, including stump grinding and cleanup was completed in about three hours. All the crew was extremely pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend without any reservations !

Punctual, professional and extremely good at what he had to do. Very tight and precarious position of tree on my house and proximity to neighbors house. GREAT JOB WELL DONE and clean up was exceptional!!

Tree Image happened to be working on a neighbor's yard, and I asked them to give me an estimate when they were done. DJ Sykes (the owner, an arborist) impressed me with his knowledge and love of trees and his enthusiasm for his work. He saw reason for concern that my big oak might be sufficiently damaged to endanger the house. Although he had many weeks of work scheduled ahead of my job, he offered to come out within the week. He planned to use a crane to lift the tree sections, to avoid putting strain on the weakened trunk. This was in mid-March, and there was still wet snow on the soft muddy ground. He gave me a verbal estimate, which included leaving the oak sections for firewood, cutting both trees flush to the ground, and chipping the willow branches. His estimate was comparable to one other I received - but I didn't think the other company was as motivated (or possibly as well-equipped) to do the job. DJ and his crew arrived punctually, despite a light rain. They made it all look easy, and safe. The job took longer than he'd estimated because of the volume of willow chips, requiring 2 trips to dump them. They left the street in spotless shape, which my neighbors will appreciate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Daniel returned my call within 15 minutes and was over to check out the trees and give me an estimate, He and his crew were doing another job in the area the next day and were able to fit me in. They did a great job, were very efficient, and cleaned the yard when they were finished. I was impressed with his customer service and his professionalism.

I contacted DJ when I observed him trimming a neighbors tree and asked his advice about taking down the pine tree located in the corner of my yard. The Power company had cut back the tree due to its proximity to the power lines and it looked really bad. DJ (being a certified Arborist) let me now that the tree was healthy, would continue to grow and that he could trim it up and make it look presentable. I was a little sceptical as it looked really bad but he let me know that taking the tree down would be expensive and that the tree could be saved and fit in with the current landscaping if he trimmed it correctly. He walked around the tree and explained to me what he would do and what the results would be when he was done. He also let me know that that him and his crew would clean up the area and haul the branches away. . I talked it over with my wife and we were impressed by his knowledge and his work ethic so we hired him. He let me know that the earliest he could get to us was in three days and we shook hands and he left after giving me his card. He showed up as promised, did the job, cleaned the area, and the tree looks amazing. It looks like a new tree, fits in with the rest of the yards landscaping, and is no longer an eye sore.

Called for estimate in March.  DJ was here in 10 minutes with reasonable estimate to remove one tree and two shrubs.  Agreed I would call in April when ready to schedule.  I called in the morning and he agreed to call me back to schedule that evening.  I went to an appointment in the afternoon and returned to find the work was done.  This was unexpected and would have been OK, but I found a third perfectly healthy shrub was also removed.  DJ returned the next day to remove the tree stump and I asked about the third shrub.  He agreed it was his mistake and said he would replace the shrub.  Since he was getting the shrub, I asked and he agreed to get a similar second shrub for me that I would pay him for.  He did this and planted both shrubs.  It will take years for the new shrub to reach the size of the one mistakenly removed, but I am satisfied with his response to an honest mistake.

Two things to note.  Transaction was all verbal.  There was nothing written regarding the work to be done or the cost.  I paid by check after the stump was removed.  Also, nobody came to the door announcing they were here to do the work.  I would have appreciated knowing before they performed work on my property.

I first contacted the owner during the work week, and he agreed to come by that Saturday to speak to us and give us an estimate.  He got here shortly after noon, and he was very professional, very friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable. He identified the various species of trees, and he took the time to look at and offer advice about a small tree that I'd recently planted that is not doing so well.
The trees were located in the back yard, between my fence and the neighbor's garage, with only a narrow walkway for access - we of course obtained the neighbor's permission to access the area through their driveway.  We only needed the trees taken down - once we see how much sun that area of yard will ultimately receive, I'll be planting some sort of vines or something for privacy, so there was no need to worry about the stumps.  
Because this was a smaller job, Mr. Sykes said he'd "fit it in" and leave an invoice for me, which was perfectly acceptable.
The next business day, I was amazed to come home from an early morning appointment (just after 10AM) and find the owner and his assistant here, and the job was almost done!   I had intended to take down my clothesline when I got home, but they had already taken care of that.  Mr. Sykes also took care not to damage anything, including my newly-planted vegetable garden, and he trimmed some other trees while he was here.
All in all, they were here approximately 2 hours, they left the yard and driveway exactly like they found them (better, in fact, if you take into account the fact that they raked the yard and blew the debris from the driveway!), except, of course, for the lack of trees.  They also, at my request, left a couple of stump for my male dog to make use of.
It's clear to me that Mr. Sykes is not only very good at his job and very knowledgeable about trees, but he also seems to really enjoy what he does.  I am very pleased I called him and would be more than happy to recommend him to others.

The owner returned the call within hours and arrived promptly the morning after we spoke, he was able to fit this job in.  He had all the equipment he needed, and his crew was very professional.  I asked him to save the wood for my fireplace, and they cut and stacked the wood for me.  
DJ himself trimmed the tree, and did a spectacular job.  Everything was done and cleaned up in less than an hour.  He even helped me out with a lilac bush that I was having a problem with, he is very professional and knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with.  
Highly recommend his services, he was great !

DJ Sykes had trimmed a damaged tree for me about 1.5 years ago and did such a good job, at a reasonable cost, that I called him again when I needed some work done on a birch tree.  I also asked him to look at a maple, which a landscaper had recommended be cut down.  He recommended the maple be trimmed back and believes it has many years of life left.  He did the work on both trees for $275, including removal of all debris.  He did the work promptly.  I got home after dark that evening and even though I park right under the maple tree, he did such a good job cleaning up I couldn't tell he had been there.  When I looked at both trees the next morning I could how carefully and completely he did the work.  I would definitely recommend him, and will use him again when I have more tree work to be done.

He wasn't the cheapest person but he does great work. He was very knowledgeable and is a certified arborist. He charged me around the going rate. He was honest and knew what he was doing. He was very personable. He was a good guy I would recommend him and use him again. They cleaned up everything immediately.
