Logic board needed to be replaced. Due to the age of the mac, I decided not to have it repaired. They erased the hard drive for me so that I could dispose of the laptop. Great to do business with.

I took my iMac in because it kept shutting down and rebooting on it's own. They diagnosed that the power supply needed to be replaced. When I got the computer home, it worked for a couple of days and then I could not get it to boot up. I took it back and they diagnosed that the hard drive needed to be replaced. The technician, Andrew, indicated that he ran the same diganostic tests both times and the hard drive did not come up as an issue on the first visit. I picked up the computer last night and it booted right up and seems fine.
I was suprised how long the repairs took on both visits. On the first occasion, I dropped off the computer on a Thursday morning and it was not available until the following Thursday. On the second occasion, I dropped off the computer on a Monday afternoon and it was not available until the following Monday. As this is the only computer I own, it was a hardship but I wanted to go to a reputabale Mac repair center so felt it was worth the wait.
As another reviewer has mentioned, the showroom is very basic and sparse and Andrew while professional does not engage the customer in conversation. On the second occasion, they charged me half the typical labor rate without me asking (which I would have). I thought that was good service.

This place doesn't waste money on a fancy showroom. It's a small business space within a suite of businesses. There are three folding tables that serve as counters for sales and service. A couple of chairs to sit in while you wait. That's it. The guy that waited on me took my iMac through a doorway just off the main floor. I was there to have a RAM update done on my desktop IMac. He didn't say much, just that it would take about 15 minutes. I could hear him working on the imac and testing that it started up ok when he finished. It took 20 minutes and the final cost was $178 for 30 minutes of labor plus the RAM. This matched the quote received before the work was done. Not the best communication skills, like I said he wasn't chatty, but no complaints about the work. I would recommend Mac Shack to others.

Their price was very very reasonable, and they were so rapid with the work. It was ready the next day. They were phenomenally quick. I have used the computer ever since, and it has been perfectly fine. They did a great job, and they did it extremely efficiently. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

No problems. I called first. They seemed professional and friendly. I brought the computer in, same impression. Less than a week later the work was done, with no surprises. Cost was less than other estimates I got when calling around.

They are honest, reliable, efficient and trustworthy. I have been going to them for quite some time now and have always had a good experience with them. They say when my computer will be ready and it is done when they say.
