I am writing to the attorney general right now regarding this service. It was horrible service. They failed to perform to the terms of the contract. They were late, did not provide the service contracted for, and then sent me to three different collection agencies when I refused to pay the balance of the contract. I wrote to them initially trying to resolve our dispute. I have called and they don't return phone calls, I responded to the credit agencies, two of which dropped Blake Miller altogether, and the third agency continues to pursue. So I have gone to the Better Business Bureau and have been exonerated by the Better Business Bureau. The business is rated an F by the Better Business Bureau and there are currently 21 complaints against them. The business bureau has advised me to go to the attorney general. My credit rating dropped because of going to collection. There are also other complaints on Angie's List.
- The men then proceeded to the back yard. There, they spent time blowing leaves out of my dog kennel and from around my deck. By the time they attacked the bulk of the leaves, they only had time to blow them all to the center of my back yard, before receiving a call from their boss to leave my house and go to another job.
- They apologized to me for not being able to finish my job. They called their boss and told him that the job wasn't finished but they were still instructed to leave right away for another one. Feeling badly about it, they actually offered to come back in their off hours to remove the leaves.
- As I looked at the mountain of leaves that stretched across the length of my back yard, I decided to call the boss.
Suffice it to say, that even though the contract was the same each year and the work was the same each year, the boss insisted that I pay additional money to have the leaves removed. I told him that he was holding me hostage and that this was clearly an unethical business practice. He was very rude to me as was his secretary.
He said that because I would have my leaves blown into the woods behind my house in the past, that this is why he had to come back to finish, that It took more time to take them to the curb. I told him that the leaves were never blown into the woods and that he was mistaken. The leaves had always been taken to the curb. This was stipulated as part of the contract when his secretary called me the week before to verify this and told me that she would write it on the contract. Of course, this only made him more rude.
It was very late in the season, so I reluctantly agreed to pay more. He told me that he would come back very soon to take the leaves to the curb for pickup by the town. He never came back. The leaves blew all over my neighbors' yards throughout the winter and killed my grass in the spring.
This year, my new lawn care providers finished the entire job, in less time, for a little more than 1/3 the cost.
Lesson learned.
"We have thousands of satisfied customers who have used our services in the past and continue to use, as well as recommend, our services. THIS is the publicity any company looks for and needs to grow and prosper. (Members Name Removed) agreed to Snow Plow services by signing a 2013-2014 SEASONAL SNOW PLOW CONTRACT. Our company has records of ALL the dates and times her driveway was plowed. She was charged for each trip. No more, no less. It only takes minutes to plow a driveway. It is impossible to sit and watch 24 hours a day to see when a driveway is plowed."
It started bad with the driver showing up late in the evening as I think we were regularly last on the list. Then we had to call for particularly deep snow and the plow had never arrived although they had cleared several driveways in my neighborhood. My wife had to call 3 times and got the answer that the plow had come but it was accumulating over what he had plowed. The owner Blake Miller claimed he had personally driven by the house and the driveway was clear. He had never come. When he finally showed up late in the evening, the driver acknowledged this was the first time the driveway had been plowed that day. When we received the bill we were charged for three visits that day. Needless to say we started keeping track of the visits. The driver only came once more since the prior bill. We received a new bill for 6 visits including 2 on February 5th. February 5th we had to shovel the driveway ourselves because my wife's car had gotten stuck in the driveway. As we were finishing, a driver showed and apologized that he had been "too busy" to get to the house. I called Blake Miller and he again said that the bill was accurate and couldn't understand the issue on Feb. 5th but would give me a credit for the two visits. he next reminded me that if when the driver goes by the house on his route, whether we shoveled the driveway or not, he was entitled to charge me for a visit. I immediately cancelled the contract.
I represent a private drive association and hired Blake to plow our street and numerous driveways. His contract said he would stake the street but I had to call numerous times to get someone to come out to do it and then they didn't even stake it correctly. Some people had already staked their property and he took their stakes and accused us of lying. His contract also stated that they would repair damage to lawns caused by the plow but they didn't honor that either. I wrote an email reminding him that repairs were needed and also included it in my spring payment. but he did nothing.
During a snowstorm last year that started around 9-10 a.m., I called and left numerous messages between 5-8:00 p.m. because we were not plowed. This was not just driveways but an entire private drive. After not receiving any response I called his cell phone. I was told not to call his cell phone because I disrupted his communication with his drivers even though he gave me the number to call. We were eventually plowed around 11:00 p.m. that night.
The people he used for plowing came to my door each time to ask what driveways needed to be plowed and where was the end of the private drive.
Blake Miller is not a reputable business man. His receptionist is rude, he is rude and they don't honor the contract. If you leave a message that you are not happy with the service you will not receive a return call. I would not recommend him to anyone.
I speak on behalf of 9 people on this private drive.
