Do not even remotely think about calling Blake Miller for snow plowing services. I have used them for several years and I will never use them again. Keep in mind that the 2015 - 2016 year was a light one while the 2014 - 2015 year was very heavy. In spite of promises made in the contract, which by the way is clearly written to favor the Blake Miller group, I had to call to receive snow plowing even after 3 inches of snow had fallen. The office which seems to have a problem keeping office managers on staff is almost always unavailable during these times. Fortunately through a contact I was able to get Blake Miller cell phone number and call him directly to get service. The straw that broke the camel's back is when we had our extremely heavy snowfall in the Rochester area in February2016. After waiting hours with almost 18 inches of snow in the driveway someone came. The job was mediocre at best with lots of snow left in the driveway and no follow-up to clean up when things were a little lighter. (I guess I was supposed to call for cleanup service) What really was horrible about this on that day a neighbor came into my driveway and gave some money to the snow plow driver because her plowing company had not yet shown up. I spoke with the driver afterwards and he said that he told her he was too busy trying to do other customers. But right after he plowed my driveway he was at the neighbors house plowing her driveway. I reported this to Blake Miller but if anything got done I was never told.

The service provided (lawn mowing) was of incredibly poor quality and entirely undependable. Sometimes the lawn was excessively overgrown, and other times they came weekly during times of severe drought and mowed dead grass - seems I was expected to call them each week to let them know there was nothing to mow. Blake almost never accepted or returned phone calls, and on the ONE occasion that I did get to speak with him he was unprofessional and just plain rude. When a friend of mine (a male) spoke with him, Blake was polite and accomodating - but ultimately was lying as he never followed through on his promises then, either. Apparently, Blake provides no training, oversight, supervision, or management for his employees, as the same issues with service and damage to my property occurred over and over. Here is a sample of my issues:

> lack of response to numerous phone messages over several months;

> twice damaged my fence gate by driving a riding mower through it; the 2nd time this occurred they entered my neighbor's property and took a garden hoe from their yard (apparently to try and repair the fence) and then threw it in the corner of my driveway. In my book, that qualifies as trespassing and stealing;

> they drove a riding mower, dripping oil, on my freshly-sealed driveway (the cone was still placed at the bottom of the driveway indicating to stay off the driveway); then Blake hired a seal coating company to come on my property to re-seal (only a portion of) the driveway, without consulting me, rending a section of my driveway unusable for a few days when I needed to park a visitor's care there;

> repeatedly damaged my backyard by using a riding mower when a walk-behind mower was specifically requested;

> needed to be be threatened with small claims court to refund money due to me, and then issuing a falsified invoice.

I would not recommend Blake Miller for ANY services he provides.

Much better than expected, since the weather was uncooperative.  They started the project on 6/4 and finished on 6/10.  Many compliments received on the results of the completed project.
The most significant part of the project was around the utility box.  Blake provided a photo of the existing area, and overlaid pictures of planting he suggested for both my neighbor and I to review. The photo showed the plants larger than those actually planted to illustrate the possible future look.  He did not disappoint!!
I've been using Blake Miller Lawn and Landscape for over 7 years.  He (and his company) been reliable, trustworthy and dependable.

Terrible. I will never deal with them again.  I'll buy scissors and do it myself before I call them.  Could not be more unhappy.

These folks sometimes showed up and sometimes not.  They billed me for times of not showing up.  Constant issues spent to much time calling the office for problems.

The actual mowers/workers, were nice enough and did try to do a nice job, but we did have to remind them to edge the trim constantly and slow down and not make ruts and rip up the lawn.  And when the lawn was very thick, I had to argue with the office to allow the mowers to double cut the grass (a service they should have performed without having to be asked).  They only double cut that one time even though it should have been done several times during the spring when it was especially lush.
It was usually mutually agreed that they should not mow when the lawn was very wet (case by case basis).  We did not have a problem with that arrangement.
The management is to blame for the poor service.  Near the end of the season, they wouldn?t schedule a mow at all, despite our repeated phone calls and voice mail messages.  They kept promising to come but never would, nor would they commit to WHEN they WOULD come.  They didn?t mow for over a month (even though it had not rained the entire month so there was no excuse not to mow) and left me with a horrible looking lawn, full of leaves and overgrown trim.  I will probably have to hire someone else to get my lawn ready for winter.
I will NEVER use them again and would NOT recommend them to anyone.   DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.
 I?m still wondering if I will get my overpayment refund from them since I did not get the number of mows contracted.  Probably not, lesson learned.
I see they are now also offering snow plowing contracts.  I certainly would NOT use them for that service either.

I found them in the yellow pages.  I would recommend them.  They were very good, came, did what they said they would do, and did what we wanted.  I didn't compare prices to anyone else.  I give them high ratings and will use them again in the future.

Terrible They only showed up when called..never did they come without my calling them. they were never proactive in calling us. We had to call them. They lady on the phone was horrible and did not want to hear about problems.We ended up yelling at her on the phone.They claimed bad weather was the issue, but i notced my neighbors who used other services had their lawns cut on a regular basis.
. I called them and told them I'd cancel the contract and i did cance in writingl. I put all on hold while I got help from the Better Business Bureau, They threatened to take me to court. unless I paid them a late fee. ( I delayed payment until BBB could help resolve) It took Blske Miller Co about 45 days to answer the BBB. So long that the BBB closed the case and then reopened it later
I will go back to using my previous provider for lawn service who was a bit more expensive but a pleasure to deal with.
I have plenty of Documentation to support the issues in court but I didn't want to waste anymore time on this foolish company.

Service was performed adequately, and workers were courteous and cooperative if we happened to be home when they were there. Since we did not know what day of the week they would arrive, we sometimes had items on the lawn which the workers had to either move (we got the impression that they tossed them) or mow over (hoses.etc) The contract states that the homeowner may skip a scheduled service if arranged with the office 2 days in advance, which will still incur a half charge for that service. At the end of the season, we were billed for one skipped service supposed to have taken place in November. Neither my husband nor I called the office nor spoke with the workers to skip a service. (We had assumed that mowing would be over by November anyway!) I spoke with the office worker who said she'd "look into it" but I never heard back until we were again billed for the skipped service plus a late payment fee. Upon calling the office again, I was told there was nothing they could do and we'd have to pay up. Essentially, it's our word against theirs and they refuse to discuss it. It's not a lot of money, but it's the principal of the thing: do you want to hire a company that bills you for services not performed?

We signed a contract for $13/plow in the fall. There were times when there was a dusting of snow and Blake Miller came and plowed, which was definitely not necessary. There were also times when he came late and we had already left for work before the driveway was plowed. We would not use this company again and were relieved when April 1st came around and the contract was over.

Blake Miller Lawn and Landscape removes snow by contract. Their per run charge is very reasonable and they bill you by the month. They staked the driveway in November and came back in April and repaired the minor damage to our grass caused by the snowplowing. I did not call and ask them to do this, they came automatically. My only complaint is that I wished they put their down closer to the driveway. While they plowed punctually, there was always a coating of snow left behind on the driveway. The one time we called and asked that they come back and plow our driveway due to blowing snow rather than new accumulation, they responded within 2 hours and redefined our driveway nicely.

Not well. The service was erratic. They came out on days when a plow truly wasn't necessary but then didn't show up enough or at all when the snow was really coming down. I expressed concern to Mr Miller that his crew did not appear to be effective and suggested they leave something behind after performing a service to prove they were even there. After canceling the service I still received a bill for not only the two ineffective plow visits described above but additional visits that alleged to have happened after I had canceled the service.

I am shocked and dismayed at your business model of trapping people into contracts with low prices then hoping they forget that they have signed up for service. I have enclosed a check for the $100 for canceling your contract, as I effectively did that in November when I forgot that I had signed up with your company due to NO reminders or stakes put into my driveway. In November, I signed up with another firm and they did put stakes in my driveway. Your staff was unhelpful in resolving this matter and refused to tell me what color stakes your company uses, although I found out that you do not use blue stakes (my neighbor has been using your service and the stakes are not blue). Therefore, your drivers would have been aware at the first snow on December 8th that there was an issue with my contract. If you had the decency to let me know on December 8th, I could have avoided paying 2 companies for the same service and canceled the other company because I had a non-binding agreement with the other company. Further, the company I?m currently using stated that this situation has happened more than once with your company. If you were an honest company, you would have contacted me immediately at the first snow to tell me that I had a contract with you, but instead your company waited until mid January to send me a bill with a copy of my original contract signed in April 2008. Since you took the time to enclose my original contract, this indicates that you were already aware that I had broken the contract. By your cashing this $100 check for payment in full, you are agreeing to close this matter and not pursue any additional payment from me. Please do not cash the check if you disagree, instead contact me immediately at 585-377-1604 or in writing at 15 Summer Glen Drive. In addition, I am a member of Angie?s list in Rochester and you can be sure that I?ll warn others of this unscrupulous practice. If indeed you are trying to be honest and do your best, then I would recommend that you send a letter to your customers to remind them that they have set up a contract in the October timeframe and also if a customer under contract has stakes that do not belong to your company, contact them immediately.

The lawn services were adequate, however we were billed a higher price than we agreed to. Blake Miller misrepresented a neighborhood discounted rate to us. He would not honor the group rate so we paid for the first month and requested the services be discontinued. He then sent us letters stating he intended to take us to small claims court and made up a bill for almost $600.00 and sent it to a collection agency. I guess the bill was for discontinuing the contract as we paid for all services completed. How very unprofessional!!!
