Door Teck

The condo I just bought had an automatic garage door opener controlled by a remote.  However, the opener was an old, cheap system with a safety problem (pointed out by the home inspector I had hired) --  the descending door did not reverse easily when it encountered an obstruction.  I decided to get a new system installed, and found Door Teck through Angie's List.  The reviews were consistently positive. 
I called and spoke with Carmine Picca, owner of Door Teck, and we arranged for him to come look at my garage door system.  He arrived on time, and did a careful examination of the old system, then explained the options and costs.  He said I could keep the old system.  It was cheap, but it worked, and he might be able to make the reversing system work more easily.  He said he could get me a new system that was on sale, that included an infrared sensor that reverses the direction of the descending door when it senses, and before it encounters, anything -- adults, children, dogs, your car, etc.   That's the system I decided to get.   Carmine did not charge anything for this initial evaluation visit.
A few days later he returned and installed the new system.  I was in the midst of packing for the move into the place, so I left him to his work.  He called two hours later and said he was finished.   I drove over and the new system worked beautifully.  He showed me how to work the simple controlling device, gave me an extra remote for free, demonstrated the infrared sensor and answered all my questions  (How long does the system's overhead light stay on when I open or close the door?  Four minutes.  How do I open or close the door in the event of an electrical failure?  He showed me.  It's easy.)  I paid him happily.  I got a top-of-the-line garage door opener system on sale, installed by a professional, who, as a bonus, is a very pleasant person to deal with.  I recommend Door Teck without qualification.  Carmine is great.

The installer called before appt. and after! I was impressed on the total service, in the past I'm used to a contracter never showing up...... Not this time will recommednd this Door teck to all my friends and family!
