I highly recommend Lighthouse Environmental! From beginning to end, they were highly professional.
We had initially used another company to excavate the in-ground oil tank and when they found soil contamination, we subsequently received their proposal for remediation. There was a significant overcharge - a double charge and unnecessary additional charges.
It was then that we turned to Jim Rood, of Lighthouse Environmental.
We are so happy that they took over! They further excavated the contaminated area, remediated the soil, removed the tank from our property and filled the area with clean fill, billing us appropriately and fairly for the work performed.
They were honest, prompt, courteous and thoroughly professional throughout! We highly recommend them for all residential environmental issues.

.Jim Root was on time, thorough, unrushed in his work, and honest. He initial said he would have to take four air samples, but when he saw the home, he decided to take less. His fee was about 30% less than his original estimate. While walking outside the house, he noticed a damaged electrical wire going in to our circuit breaker and other small problems we would have to address some time in the future.
The report arrived two days later, on time, and was written in language that we could understand. His accompanying letter encouraged me to call him with questions and when I did so, he spend almost 20 minutes (of unbillable time) giving me information. Although mold was found, he explained that although it must be removed, it was not an emergency. He assured us we could easily clean up some of the rooms on our own. He provided names of contractors who could do the entire job, providing me with information of what specifically had to be done and an estimate as to how much it should cost. He encouraged me to find other contractors and call him if I had questions about them.
