Initially, I hired James. He sent a crew out to measure/do the work. This was a surprise to me. The crew had problems working together; some used foul language and argued. They tore a screen on my window, and took too long to get an open area covered during rain; I now have water stains on my upstairs ceiling. They opened an area and found an enormous, active bird nest full of baby birds, continued roofing, and informed me after they had closed the area up. Twice, they neglected to show up at all, and no one could locate them. The bottom line was a roof tear off and replacement on a small house which should have taken no more than 3 days took over a week. I have since had to call James for minor problems, i.e. loose flashing and an unsecured gutter, as well as several shingles not lying flat. I also noted an area where bare wood is showing, which has yet to be fixed, though I've informed him of it.
