I purchased food and water for the movers and gave them a break to sit down and eat. They had me pay for their food and kept the clock running as they were eating. They didnt tell me that they kept the clock while they were eating. They charged me a fortune to move. Property missing after the move.

My experience went very well. The staff was friednly and professional. The ricing was reasonable. My belongings were moved in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this company to others.

Selected this company based on a recommendation. They were not the least expensive quote we received but went with them based on recommendation. Team showed up on time and quickly removed material and loaded on truck. Bottom line is that one of the boxes that was loaded on the truck was not delivered on the other end. Conveniently, this was the only box containing anything of value othe than clothing and household items. The company staff and owner responded in a friendly but ineffective manner. Of course, they suggested that the mistake was ours. To be clear, this was not a big confusing move.. The boxes to be moved were stacked neatly in one area and we watched all the boxes get loaded on the truck.

The first part of the move went smoothly. 3 weeks later we returned to boxes piled ceiling high, and not as we were promised to each room that the things were taken from. Items were broken, and to add insult to injury a very expensive lamp was broken and the broken light bulbs were left in their sockets. Two very expensive stained glass lamps had their tops snapped off. Expensive items are still missing and we have found someone else's trophies with our belongings. They removed an old refrigerator and when they disconnected it, they turned the cold water back on and caused a leak by not disconnecting the copper tubing. Our small refrigerator that we use for snacks, drinks and medications was also brought to storage. (We were told that it would be left in our apartment so that the items wouldn't spoil, our insulin was missing. E. Brown and L. Nissen

Overall it was good. It was more expensive than originally quoted, but the original quote was over the phone & when they arrived they said I had more than I thought, so it cost an ext $250 for an extra hour. They were relatively efficient; there was minimal breakage & they were nice people. The only thing was is that from the moment they started I got the feeling I was being set up for a large tip - "not going to charge you for the boxes...", "the boss says I should charge you for this but I won't...". It was just a little annoying; I knew what was coming. But all in all, the prices were pretty even with the extra hour because of the time spent. I would consider using them again.

The team from Moving Right Along, beginning with Matt, who came to review and assess our needs and provide an estimate of the cost, was professional, skillful and congenial. We were moving out of a house that we had occupied for more than 30 years and, needless to say, we had accumulated lots of stuff. We required assistance with packing, especially of valuable artwork and other collectibles, and with moving and the ultimate storage of our possessions. Once we contracted the services of the company, the teams (2) who assisted us were, to a man, reliable, punctual, CAREFUL, and efficient. The job of moving was carefully thought through and planned and went off without a hitch. The men even cleaned up after the move was complete. Through it all, they were pleasant and conscientious and considerate of our needs. This is important: they kept and provided us with a copy of an EXTENSIVE inventory of our possessions that would remain in their facility until we were ready for it to be moved to our new location.
The cost indicated above covered the packing (1 day) and moving of our possessions into the company's storage facility ( a second day), where it will remain until we relocate. The charge for storage is not included above; it is of course a monthly charge and dependent upon the number of square feet of storage being utilized. Additionally, we spent approximately $750 for the services related to the PODS move.
We couldn't have been more satisfied with MRA and expect to use the services of the company again shortly, as a family member is about to move to a new location. We have also recommended the company to friends.

Superb service! We moved our son from a 1 bedroom co-op to the upper west side. Even through narrow hallways and small elevators John and his crew never complained. They wrapped everything carefully, took special care with items that needed it, and expedited the move without a single problem. I would not use any other company in the future. Thank you!!

I should have checked Angie's List and gotten a better moving company- so really I have no one to blame but myself. It was a standard move with 1 month storage, you would think they could do that in a friendly manner and not break anything (including an antique dresser)- WRONG. The management is very nice and responsive, but I feel that is part of their scheme. In fact, when I told Management I should have used a company that was recommended on Angies List, they said the had never heard of Angies List, yet I see they responded to an earlier complaint on the list! The Mover's were not at all nice and told me that I must tip them generously IN CASH and implied that they do not make enough money working for their company- although I certainly paid enough for their services ($2700.00, way more then average) and it is definately not my problem how much they make. The fact that the Movers felt they could be so intimidating was because I was a woman and alone in the Apartment during the move. When my neighbors found out they were furious and wrote down the company name to insure they or their friends, will never use such a rude, sloppy and careless Moving Company. Although the management did try to patch it up as much as possible, the damage is more then done- My advice, use another company on the List! NOTE to Moving Right Along: Please do not use your usual spin on this site by saying how you had no idea the movers would do what they did and it is strictly against your company policy- Yes you apologized for the incident and tried to make it up to me (but I did not want anything from you)- You hired these guys- its your responsiblity- its your fault, I'm sure you know full well what kind of games they play- please don't try to spin it or sugar coat it!

"You are absolutely right over the issue that we are responsible for the actions of the crews that handle shipments in client’s homes. We employ a variety of people to ensure that people’s transitions go smoothly. However on occasion there is a hitch or a bad apple. This is when a mover gets to show how good he really is; by how he remedies the situation. I, Jim Rueda, had the opportunity to deal with you over the gratuity issue and as you know we were very responsive to your concerns. I suggested several scenarios in an attempt to quell the situation and re-install faith in our services. You specifically told me the actions of the foreman but that you were happy with the rest of the crew. Now you tarnish the entire crew, you claim that management is on some sort of scheme and that your furniture including an antique dresser was damaged. Your sarcasm, mistruths and words of wisdom are uncalled for. I’m surprised you didn’t mention that you failed to purchase any moving insurance to cover your shipment during transit and that Moving Right Along still arranged to have the broken dresser leg repaired. Furthermore that this same leg may have broken because it had been previously repaired from some other occasion. I dismissed the foreman from his employment with us, expeditiously repaired the 1 piece of furniture that was damaged and offered you discounts. However, I suppose there is no making you happy. I pity anyone who attempts to provide you with any type of service. Perhaps Angie’s List will some day institute a list of “difficult people to work with”. This will assist reputable firms to see if their potential client is a chronic complainer and is prone to bad mouthing regardless of the attempts that a company may take to rectify the situation."

They did the job beautifully. They took the books as well as the furniture and put it in a huge truck. We got all the stuff out and they worked in close coordination with the fumigation experts. All the while we thought that the bugs were only in one room but they helped us check the other room and removed things from there as well for the fumigating. They coordinated well and saved us double costs. After the fumigating they stored our stuff with them. We waited till we got a confirmation that there were no bugs and only after another round of fumigating we got our stuff moved back in.

Moving Right Along (MRA) gave me an estimate (price per hour) which included an hour of travel to the pick up. Crew of two showed up with truck on time. Once truck was loaded, before leaving for the destination, the driver demanded payment in full via credit card. We arrived at the destination (MRA warehouse) a full hour earlier than he had estimated. The MRA "supervisor" refused to speak with me for 45 minutes, and initially refused to give me a credit for the hour. I demanded their BBB Number; he gave me a credit. I had pre-arranged to rent a storage space available from MRA. They showed me the space, I estimated it was large enough. After dealing with their over charge on the move, they gave me the storage contract, listing a higher price. They said that this was the space I had been shown. I told them that I had asked on 2 occasions to see the smallest space; they deliberately showed me a larger space. Classic bait and switch; very slimy.
