TIOGA STATE INVESTMENT SVC LLP

I've been with this provider for many years but as we moved from year to year my wants or concerns seemed to conflict with what he wanted. The provider seemed to be more interested in the fees collected off my account than acting as my advisor/fiduciary. I wanted to lower the fees I was paying to keep more of MY money for MY IRA/investments. At my last visit, I questioned the fees and stated I wanted to lower them by using some ETF funds which had lower expense ratios than the funds he had me invested in. He would not allow me to use some of the good performing funds & replace some of the others with ETFs. I was given 3 choices, none of which I liked. 1- leave it as it is. 2- Change to all ETFs which I did not want. 3- Pick 10 funds I wanted and he would tell me how much it would cost me to change to them.  Over the weekend, my wife and I discussed his choices and his attitude of no compromise. We made a decision to look elsewhere which we did and found another advisor that would work with me on lowering the fees I was paying for funds as well as lowering the fee I was paying yearly for his services. The lowering of the yearly fee was what really set me & my wife off! All the years with this provider (that was supposed to work in my best interests) and he could have lowered this yearly fee but never did, that's what really hurt.
