Dr. Surman is without exception the very best Veterinarian. We have utilized the services of Dr. Surman and her team at Ameriland Animal Hospital since 2002. Dr. Surman has lovingly and expertly cared for all of our dogs (Aussies) and our cats. She and her team are true professionals: knowledgeable and caring, and Ameriland Animal Hospital's fees (for all services and other needs pet meds, supplies, are very reasonable. We travel from the west side of Monroe County, NY to Ovid, NY (which is over 1 hr.), and would NEVER go anywhere else. Thank God for Dr. Surman and her team!

She is a local resident she has even come to my house when I thought my dog was choking on a bone. She has a X-ray machine that takes over a hour before she could use it. She didn't charge me once we found out it only scraped his throat. She is great in an emergency situation. She is from England so she may leave for a few weeks twice a year. But she is really good with my pets and I will continue to use her again in the future.

This facility came to me as a recommendation from a friend. I had never used them, or even talked to them prior to the first visit for my cat Pita. He had gotten outside and into something caustic, still unclear what exactly. His right eye had swelled to about three times the typical size and appeared bloodshot, the entire right side of his head was swollen and tender! I had taken him to my local vet, only to find that the necessary treatment was eye removal and was going to cost $800! I have six kids, not eight hundred dollars :-) I called Ameriland and explained the situation to them. A very sympathetic team worked a miracle for my Pita, and kept me within budget!! I arrived at their facility a few minutes early, and they arrived a few minutes late (three or four minutes, not long. Sitting in the car with a crying cat and an antsy two year old for 10 minutes was starting to give me a little twitch, though!!) Once I got inside with the two year old and the kitty, everyone there was wonderful! Helpful, welcoming, just pleasant to be around! They all introduced themselves and even helped with my daughter :-) Pita stayed there overnight. The next day I picked him up alone (whoa, no two year old in tow :-P) and they explained everything to me, the surgery, his reactions, how he did. Really, everything! Since I have a medical career, I expained I would be removing his stitches to save a bit more money. They understood and offered to do it for free if I needed it! (Free?!! Wow!) Even though I ended up finishing his care at home, as I had hoped to, I was happy with the services I recieved from Ameriland Vet!!
