"Thank you Lynn for taking the time to rate our work. We appreciate that."
This landscaping was one of my smaller jobs with Tom as we have had them do large amounts of landscaping and stonework following extensive drainage work and as part of a pool installation. Tom is excellent to work with. He is very personally involved despite managing a large business and cares about a beautiful end product, satisfied customers and referrals. He has great workers, very professional, hard-working and superbly skilled. Between Tom and his wife Jennifer, they are very responsive with phone calls and emails. And when we encounter setbacks that inevitably arise with a big job, (overly wet or clay-y soil, a broken sprinkler line, weather, etc.) Tom just deals with it and keeps moving the project forward. Importantly, he has the big and small machinery to do jobs right (excavators, stone tampers, etc.)
In "hardscape", he has built a stone wall for us, stone steps, a patio and various stone walks. He has put in trees for us, shrubs, bulbs, perennials and annuals as well as grass seed and sod and of course mulch. Tom has good taste, gives good advice and has been excellent in interacting with my architect, drainage, irrigation, electrician, tree trimming and other professionals. He takes real pride in his work. I have used other landscapers over the years but tend to find that the trees were inexpertly planted (leading to death, fungus etc.) I think this company is not "cheap", but that it's very much a case of you get what you pay for and landscaping and stonework are investments that you want to last.
Due to the size and scope of our landscaping needs and some complications like wet areas, Tom recommended that we work with Mike LaGue of Willow Creek to create a design plan. This was an excellent arrangement and we ended up with a real beautiful property that is suited to the needs of our soils and our preferences on aesthetics.
