DAVES FENCES

I made an appointment for them to come and look at my fencing needs. Unfortunately, the date chosen was the same day a neighboring town was resurfacing a street near me and the company called to reschedule because they couldn't find a way to come around the work area even though my street was unaffected and I came and went with no problems. We rescheduled for another day that was less convenient for me, but I made it home in plenty of time to sit and wait for a couple hours for Dave's to be a no show. No calls with an explanation for standing me up the second time.

The job went great! In the two pre-contract site visits, we talked with Dave about the best way to install the fence, and we felt that he would be the most involved, and the he had the best sense as to what we wanted. The job took 2 1/2 days. We were amazed at how quickly they dug up the posts for the old fence, and cleared the concrete, and also how quickly they installed the new fence. There were a lot of tree roots along the area with the fencing, and they were very careful to hand dig everything, and to make the fence section a bit shorter if needed to avoid a root. In addition, they did a superb job attaching the bamboo, which took longer than the actual fence installation, and we discussed the best way to attach it and the best way for it to look. Dave and his brother were there for the beginning of the job. His brother was there for the pole digging (which was deep and had concrete down for two feet). In addition, we were most impressed by Manuel, who was the foreman for the job. He was both knowledgeable and creative. He and his team left the job broom clean each day, and they neatly stacked the extra bamboo where we wanted it. We were very impressed by the professionalism and workmanship, as well as the final product. We would strongly recommend Dave for your fencing needs.

Nothing has happened and the contractor could not be bothered to let us know. If the job was too small or they are too busy., they should just let us know.

I had them come by for an estimate. I asked them how much for installation if I got my own pvc fence. He told me doesn't really do that and he would have to speak to the owner, but I would be better off ordering the panels from there catalog. Seemed kind of shady to me. Anyway he asked for my email and said he would send me an estimate. It's been about a week and I haven't heard from them.

Don't expect the job to be finalized or any follow up service after last payment is made. 180-foot fence was installed on May 23rd timely and level. During installation the owner was not on the job and I had to control quality on my own, asking workers to level a good number of panels. At end of day the workers came out short one proper end-post and and quot;temporarilyand quot; installed a substitute one without securing it in cement. As that was the last and seemingly small part of the job I made full payment and was promised by the owner that the post will be replaced and properly set in cement shortly. It is October 25th today, the and quot;temporaryand quot; post is still there. I placed multiple calls and sent three emails over the 5 months period...still waiting.

Dave's did a FANTASTIC job. From start to finish they were very responsive. They showed up on time for the estimate, provided the written quote the next day, gave us a date for installation and were here on time, and finished the job when they said they would. Would definitely recommend them to anyone and would use them again.

It came out beautifully. I would recommend them to anybody, but would advise watching them complete the work. This adds a lot of curb appeal to the house.

They were honest up front about the waiting period. Had the best price of the 4 companies I spoke with. Were responsive when I contacted them after our initial visit and before installation. Team was here all day and got the full yard done in 12 hours. Yard was trampled, but I expected that, so hadn't landscaped. If you already have a beautiful yard, you may want to add in information about being mindful of plants during installation.

After estimate was received, provider was called and asked to return for a more detailed estimate and a walk-through with the owner. An appointment was made for the weekend of 7/13-7/14, but provider never showed up.

The crew of 3 did an excellent job, using quality materials. The only problem is that they are very slow in returning phone calls.

Knew about dogs needs and had pragmatic approach. Were very kind and committed to the task to get the work done as efficiently as possible post-Sandy back up. Email proposals and followed up with calls. All around good, trustworthy and reliable experience.

Daves Fences came to measure and the pricing is average. Their work is pretty good and their workers were okay and I was happy with them.

Got an estimate. Installed fence. Happy customer!

Great contractor...hardworking team. Great job, perfect tree removal to get fence in. Estimate was on par with the rest, but these guys put cement in every post instead of just the corners like the others. Highly recomended

The guys were prompt, quick and focused on quality. We went and spoke to them a couple times with questions and requests, and they were very accommodating. The owners were both very nice, responsive to our questions and cared about our satisfaction. When Dave came out to take measurements and give us a quote, he was giving us tips on what to do and not to do, even if we decided not to go with him. They did not charge us the balance on our payment until they knew that everything was done correctly, and that we were happy with the results.

Everything went well. Estimate done quickly. It was almost half of what another highly rated fence company on your list quoted. Men came on the appointed day, finished in 2 days, cleaned up any mess (dirt on lawn, materials, etc.).

Charlie at Daves Fences can to the house and prepared an an estimate that was very reasonable. The work was delayed two days and on each day of the delay Charlie called to let me knw of the delay. The work was finished on time on budget. The quality of the work was first class and the clean up was excellent. I could not hacve been more pleased with the entire process. I highly recommend this company and would definitly use them again.

Dave was prompt to give us a quote they came and installed the fence and cleaned up when they where done and removed the old fence. They worked quickly and did a wonderful job on the fence. We couldn't be happier with the quality of this job.

Others have mentioned Dave's unresponsiveness to phone calls. I found that he often didn't get right back to me if I called, but I was always contacted in due time to whatever the day was that the work was to be done. Not immediate, but not bad either. I was not left hanging. Dave's provided a written proposal that clearly spelled out what was to be done via email. The price was also reasonable when compared to other quotes we got (not the rock bottom, but far from the highest!) His crew arrived on time and finished the work promptly and professionally. They also remounted a couple of wooden braces that held the brackets for our solar cover for me for no add'l charge even though it wasn't part of the original proposal, and they remounted some electrical outlet boxes I had had on the original fence. They did a GREAT job of cleaning up the previous fence and asked appropriate questions like whether I wanted to keep the link inner fence I had originally had before just discarding it. (I didn't want it.) The fence is a post and rail locust wood with a wire outer fence so children cannot climb under or between the rails. The work was top notch and I expect to have this fence for many years to come. They also constructed the fence height and structure so it was to code for our area. (The fence is a little higher and the doors are self shutting spring loaded.) My wife also loves the type of wire outer fence they chose to use. It is much less conspicuous than the wire link fence we had in the original fence, but it is sturdy and has a strong wire base that has made it impossible for our dogs to and quot;slipand quot; or burrow under it. Yet you hardly see it! I would definitely use Dave's Fences again.

They were very good. I know that a lot of people around here use them because I see their signs. The previous fence was built by the previous owner, and it was of poor quality. They had to realign the fence, and they did a good job. I'm sure the price was competitive.

A friend referred them to me. They were awesome. I went with them because they were cheaper and they offered to do a few extra things within the price. They offered to fix up another little old fence. I appreciated that extra customer service within the original price. I would recommend them to others based on their cost and service.

Dave's estimate was higher than a competitor, but the competitor did not give a written proposal. Checked quality of work performed for a neighbor and Dave received high marks. We have 4 dogs and we needed a fence which would prevent them from leaving the property. Dave's workmen made certain that the space between the bottom of the fence and the ground was as narrow as possible without placing the wood in the dirt. They responded positively to every request we made. The work was performed well and expeditiously.

I am of the belief that if you make an appointment, you should stick to that date and time. If there are problems, you should call IN ADVANCE of the appointment to advise the other party.
