LOVE - Thorn Ave Doctors and Staff. Gentle and Caring professionals

Thorn is the best animal for the care of your pet. If there is a choice, I will have no other to look after my dogs. The staff is always friendly, personal, and above all, they genuinely like your animals. Drs Claus and other vets, especially the senior Dr Claus are compassionate and knowledgable. Bed-side manners are superb. I like the way they talk and handle the dogs. They are also realistic and will not recommend unneeded or excessive treatments. Thorn is a top-notch veterinary service that sets the standard and defines what a neighborhood vet clinic should be.

I called on a Monday and was given an appt for an exam on Wednesday. I had a 4:30 appt. and waited less than 5 min. The doctor and vet tech were both kind and professional. The office staff took care of obtaining the records from my original vet and I was pleased to discover the office visit was $16 less than what I'd been paying. The dental cleaning was scheduled for the following Tuesday. After another exam and review of her bloodwork, the service was performed with my dog needing several extractions. The vet was very thorough in the explanation of service and the aftercare necessary. They answered all of my questions, gave me free samples of toothpaste and brushes, and a courtesy nail trimming, cleaning of eye discharge and expressing of anal glands. I had also asked that a small growth be removed from her side which was also done free of charge. My first vet had given me a range of $450 to $925. Thorn Ave. gave me a range of $370 to $650 and came in at $560. I feel I probably saved a couple hundred dollars but beyond that, already feel more trusting that I am getting quality vet care without unnecessary add ons.

On time, handled pet well, gave advice and treatment as needed

Dr. Joseph Clauss seen kitty immediately, vaccinated and examined him. Vet technician drew blood for FIV/FeLk test and looked for microchip. We were in and out within 20 minutes. It went very well.

I have been going to Thorn Avenue (on high recommendation from a friend) for just over a year, first with one new rescue dog, then a second. I have seen three veterinarians, all of whom were very professional and thorough. ( I was asked if I wanted to see any particular doctor when making the appointments) The staff is very friendly and efficient. The facilities are spacious and clean. My one dog is a bit and quot;testyand quot; when being examined, and this is handled professionally and courteously. I have also requested records by phone and had very friendly, rapid response - records are pulled up almost before I finish giving my name!
I would highly recommend this office.

I have always been highly satisfied with the people at Thorne Ave Animal Hospital. We were there when its owner, John Clauss, first started it, and always found him to be highly competent, professional, and kind. Over the years the practice has grown and more people were added, but even when we didn't get to see John, we were happy with our treatment there.

Staff is professional and friendly. The clinic is very clean. We were able to get an appointment very quickly. Dr. Rice and the vet tech took the time to listen to our questions and give clear answers.

I have two dogs and four cats and they all go here to Thorn. Thorn is really good and we have always been pleased with him. His office is about 30 miles round trip for us but we still go to him. He does x-rays and surgeries to if it is needed. This is a very clean place and a very loving environment.

This place is absolutely the best! They are super. The staff and the doctors are very personable and the prices are reasonable as well. They really know their stuff and answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend them to other people; they are truly dedicated to the animals.

I really like the fact that they do the nail clipping and ear cleaning as a courtesy. It's good because their prices are a little high. Everyone there is nice and knowledgeable. The staff makes you feel special and they are very good with my dog.

Dr. Clauss is good. He always remembers my dog and my dog's history. I really think that's a nice quality to have in a vet. He is also really friendly and personable and I think the prices are pretty in line too.
