About us
Storie Construction is involved in all areas of residential construction. Estimates are free. A contract is drawn up between the customer and Storie Construction, based on the guidelines of the Attorney General's Office, which includes a job description, materials, beginning and ending dates of the job, and signatures of both customer and Storie Construction. If the end date of the project needs to be altered due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, or material delays, a revised contract will be signed by both parties reflecting this change.

Terrible. Put us through immense stress and went 35,000 over the projected estimate and still did not complete the project

To return for small jobs needs constant reminders. Admits job done could have been better, but not returning to do the work. Voice mail on phone not activated.

I agreed to pay Storie Construction $2,200.00 to refinish a floor in one of my apartments while I was away. I never saw the room for 7 months. I asked to see pictures of his finished work and he never supplied me with detailed pictures. They were washed out in light. So...I saw a red flag. So, I sent him only $1,500.00 until I got back to NY. to see the floor. My tenants switched apartments, so I was able to check out the floor.
The floor was only half stripped of the old varnish. It was gouged with roller lines. The floor was not edged at all. It turned out horrible.
He came and looked at it. He found only 3 feet of the 300 square feet that looked good. That was it.
Yet, he still refused to refund my money.
12 people looked at the floor and determined that it needed to be done over.
Another flooring company gave me an estimate of $1,500.00 to fix the Jacent Storie mess of my floor.
Jacent Storie refused to refund my money or fix the job.

Very well done. Accommodating. I have had many jobs done by other local contractors with unsatisfactory results. I was very pleased with Storie's workers. Were all very conscientious.

They were capable and pleasant to work with. They made an estimate and billed actual time and material. They tended to come in and re-estimate as we added work items and materials. Update of an old, riverside building came apparent.

Jacent was always timely and reasonably priced. Even if he wasn't familiar with the style of finishing work he was willing to learn and did a great job!

Excellent! They are on time, what they estimated to be done was right on, they didn't cost over with what was estimated. They were clean and efficient and moved things back in. They were timely, when they said they would be here, they were here. We didn't have to wait.
