CHARDONAS KEYLOCK SVC INC

I was a returning customer of Chardonas. Used them first 10 years ago to change the locks to my condo. When I was displaced from my home due to Hurricane Sandy, I needed my locks changed again in January, 2013 due to all the contractors that were in my condo. I hired Chardonas, again. They subcontracted out to another locksmith, without my knowledge, and charged me $467.00 to change a dead bolt and a door knob. I moved to another home in July, 2013. I hired Chardonas again. I asked Willis, the locksmith, if he was was going to charge me $500.00 to change the locks. He indicated locks are not that expensive and it would cost me approximately $200.00. He charged me $216.00 to change the same exact locks, a dead bolt and a door knob. I explained to Willis what happened in January, 2013. He suggested I contact Vanessa, the manager of Chardonas. He indicated sometimes they subcontract to outside locksmiths who overcharge. My husband faxed over the receipts to Vanessa on a Tuesday, never heard from her. He called her the following Tuesday, she said she has the receipts and she was too busy to review them. Called her again a couple of days later, she said "when we are busy we subcontract to other companies" and she had no record me calling in January, 2013, even though Chardonas was the company who sent me a locksmith. She said she would look into it further, and suggested we contact "Sam" who they subcontract to at times. My husband spoke with "Sam", faxed over the receipts to him, it was not "Sam's" company. My husband called Vanessa and told her it was not "Sam", she said there was nothing she could do. He asked to speak to the owner, who is Vanessa's father, he would not come to the phone. As I paid with my credit card in January, 2013, I contacted my credit card who indicated the locksmith was "Run Anywhere Locksmith". My husband called them, who denied it, despite holding a receipt and credit card proof of payment. My husband called Vanessa and told her about "Run Anywhere Locksmith". She again said there was nothing she could do and questioned "are you sure your wife hired Chardonas to change the locks? Didn't she notice the locksmith did not wear our shirt?" My husband told Vanessa we were filing a formal company with the Better Business Bureau and he response was "Go ahead and waste your time." During recovery of Hurricane Sandy, Chardonas subcontracted to other locksmiths without customers knowledge who charge them 50% more than they should have. Chardonas is denying it and not rectifying their mistake.
