I spoke to Ron, the owner, after his technician, Steve, charged my friend Helen $80 for a Samsung refrigerator repair he couldn't do. The problem was immediately apparent (a plastic hinge). Steve spent less than 10 minutes looking for the part online, then gave up and charged her $80 for nothing. He told her the part was discontinued and unavailable. She's 85 years old and lives in Freeport on Social Security, taking care of her adult disabled daughter. Ron defended his technician, Steve, and rudely said "everything costs so much these days that we have to pass it along to our customers." He refused to give even a partial refund. So I went online myself, and it took me about a half hour to find and order the part (cost $3 dollars). Then I went to Helen's house and installed the part myself with just a screwdriver - in less than 15 minutes. And, oh yeah, after I got the part, I called Ron again and he wanted $160 just to install it! A $3 dollar part! 100% God's truth! -- YOU be the judge!

In case you don't normally read an entire review, let me start off by saying that these guys are a total ripoff. I called Appliance Doctor to fix the ice maker on my LG refrigerator. The woman on the phone was pretty friendly. She set up an appointment and said 2 repair men came by. They spent about 10 minutes and determined that the ice maker was broken and had to be changed. They ordered it and came back in 2 days when it was delivered. They removed the old ice maker, which was 5 screws and an electrical plug. It took less Tha 5 minutes. As it turned out, the wrong part was delivered. They sent it back and got the right part. They came back and installed the correct one in less than 5 minutes. They charged me $350. Out of curiosity, I looked on line and saw the exact part for $133. Making over $200 on the 5 minute installation of a part is a complete and total disgrace. I would understand if they made $100, but $200 is incomprehensible for 10 minutes of work. I called them to register my complaint. Ron, the owner called me back. I told him how disgusted I was about his price gouging. He began screaming at me, telling me that someone has to pay for insurance and other business costs. I told him to stop shouting and treat me properly. I told him I understand that he has to make money, but over $200 for 10 minutes of effort is unacceptable and he is a thief. I strongly recommend that Noone use them to fix their appliances, as they are a complete ripoff

Chris was polite, punctual and professional. He listened carefully and checked the machine for problems. The office worker, Laurie, was responsive and helpful. I would definitely use the service again.

I called this morning. They said they would get here by 1. They called when he was 1/2 hour away. Chris was very professional and resolved the matter quickly. I would recommend them to anyone and will use them in the future.

My dryer was making a screeching sound. I called Appliance Doctor and they were able to come the same day even though I said no rush. Ronnie was able to diagnose the problem and fix it right away at a reasonable price. We have been using Appliance Doctor for years and have always found them to be honest, reliable and prompt. They have fixed washers, dryers, refrigerators and stoves for us. Always very pleased with the services.

Called in the evening. They called back the following morning and showed up within a few hours. Diagnosed problem. Ordered part. Came back 2 days later and it needed more repair than initially thought. They ordered additional part on a Tuesday. Part received Wednesday. They returned Thursday morning and completed repair. Now, here's where it gets good - - they originally estimated total cost (including service call) to be $180.00. They landed up having to come back an extra time with an extra man. They didn't charge for the additional labor costs! HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys! As good as they come. They have done repairs for me in the past. A few years ago, my washing machine wasn't working well. After looking at the machine, they told me to use it until it dies because it wasn't worth fixing. He could have sold me on the repair, but instead gave me an honest assessment.

They were fine. They came, they quoted, and they fixed it and left. I like things quick and to the point. I think they came the same day that I called. My stove was inoperable and I couldn't even light it with a match. We couldn't cook outside because it was January.

I used them about two years ago when I had an issue with another appliance. He came in, looked at it, ran a diagnostic to see what was going on and figure out if we needed to buy a new one or if he could repair it. We were satisfied with that. Once we started having a problem with the stove, we still had the receipt from when we used them and we called them in. They were quick to respond within an hour or two of the call. I thought that was pretty good. The guy who came out was really knowledgeable. He's good at letting you know what's going on and giving you options. He's seems pretty straightforward. We didn't end up using him for the repair because he suggested we call the manufacturer to get a part replaced and he showed us how to do it. We just paid for the visit and the diagnostic.

I like that he fixes really old machines that are past their warranty. He is very honest and he tells you right up front about what the problem is and what needs to be done fix it. He seems to know how to fix everything, which is the best thing.

I called at 9:00 PM and received a call back by 8:15 the next morning. He set up an appointment for that morning. He later called to tell me he was on his way and arrived at 11:30. He was respectful, pleasant, showed me the parts he was replacing, and explained how and why. For no additional charge, he also replaced the wheel that drives the belt.
