General Remodeling
I'll start with the excellent, then mention the problems
He seemed honest, was reliable and very hard-working. He had good ideas. And was well organized. His contract was fair.
The work went smoothly.
The bathroom looked lovely, he did a nice job with the basement ceiling. The paint job was good. He built nice, in-laid shelves himself. Initially, he was a cut above the other contractors we had worked with.
PROBLEMS:
Less than a year after completion, the shower floor is starting to warp. There is a dip next to the drain, and the water there stagnates, and does not go down the drain. It has to be sponged up. This area has yellowed. The shower is less than a year old, so this should not be happening.
I tried to email him about the problem, but apparently, he changed email addresses, so I had to phone. When I called, he sounded concerned, and said that he wanted to takea look. I left our phone number. But he never called back.
A minor problem is that the workers were a little disrespectful of our property. We would find bottles and cans thrown in our backyard. One worker poured soda on a potted plant, which killed it. Another minor problem was that toward the end of the project, he did not return phone calls. We were mostly happy with the other work, but are miffed about having to hire another contractor to correct the warping shower floor.
