Palermo Flooring Inc I recently had the pleasure of working with **Palermo Flooring Inc**, and they truly saved the day. After a frustrating experience with another company due to their careless work, I was in a panic to find someone reliable. That’s when I came across Palermo Flooring. Upon meeting with the owner, **Matthew Bruno**, I explained the situation. He quickly assessed the condition of my floors, as we were planning to refinish and stain the hardwood in six rooms. Matthew and his team of 2 to 3 specialists were everything I hoped for: prompt, respectful, and highly professional. They were incredibly patient and even great with pets, which was a huge plus. Their workmanship was exceptional, leaving my floors looking stunning. The team was clean, courteous, and meticulous, ensuring every detail was perfect. I can’t recommend Palermo Flooring Inc enough. If you don’t hire them, you’re truly missing out on top-notch service. ---

Palermo Flooring was very professional. They gave me a free estimate and guided me through the whole process. They had me pick out four samples of stain colors and then put them on my floors. One of my floors was cherry while the rest was oak so I was concerned about how the stain would look on them. I made a decision and all went well. I even got complements from my neighbors. There were no surprises and once the job was over I dropped off the final payment to their office. I have since recommended them to two other friends who have also used them.

excellent. Pricing was fair and reasonable. they ran into a problem with water on the subfloor. they held the job up to allow the subfloor to dry and to give me time to make sure I did not have an ongoing leak . in summary they did it the right way. they could have gone right over the damp subfloor and I would not have known! Installers were tidy. I had constant communication with Danielle at the office. i am very happy and would recommend Palermo

Perfect! I highly recommend this company. I have hired them twice to in the past 6 years to sand and stain my floors. This last time was because I had a pipe burst.

While they were very professional and polite, I think that this company is more commercial and not residential. The areas they prefer to work in (Manhattan, Montauk, etc.) are out of my preferred price range.

Palermo Flooring, Inc. was hired to replace about 1700 square feet of wood flooring in my home. The workers were punctual, professional, courteous and hard-working. They did a fantastic job--from the planning process at the start to the quality of the flooring to the workmanship -- the entire experience was excellent. My floors look beautiful. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to others.

Initially it went well. Looked beautiful. After a few months the flooring separated in a few places. Called them. They came and determined that it was normal and they couldn’t do anything. I’m very unhappy with my flooring.

amazing. the floors look brand new. they are slightly higher in price but worth ever penny that i spent. i dealt with both matt and ben and they really cared. ben taught me what to look for and what product i should use. he took the time to educate me on the process. matt checked the colors and since i was not around sent me pictures to make sure i was pleased with the match. i ended up relying on his experience and that was the best decision i made. the women who clean my house were also amazed at the difference this made. they took palermo floor info to recommend to their other clients. this was the best decision i made.

Palermo Flooring is one of the few Bona Certified Flooring Contractors that, as required by law, is Licensed in Nassau County and neighboring counties and for a fee willing to move the furniture within your property so that you do not have to hire a separate moving company. Another contractor had told us that some of our old solid red oak floors, hidden under carpets for many years and original to our 1920's built home, were too old for refinishing and needed to be replaced. Palermo Flooring revitalized, seamlessly replaced and repaired our wood floors where needed. They did a beautiful job. The crew they sent also was very careful about moving our furniture and did a great job doing that. Used: Bona Traffic HD, Satin Finish, custom color.

They did a decent jobs on the floors, but the price was expensive. They also blew out my outlet with their equipment and would not pay for it & were very confrontational when I asked them to pay for it. No a great experience.

They did an excellent job and I would use them again.

They did a good job. There are a couple of places where the connectors are a little shaky. They could have a better quality of work. I probably would less likely to use them again.

Oh yes they did do some work for me, it was pretty good, the only problem I had out with them is it took longer than initially estimated and I give that to a lot of stuff going out through the storm other than the work was good.

4/13/16 I feel compelled to write a follow up note subsequent to my earlier commentary (see below) which was written over one year ago and had been posted online. One year later I required some additional follow up work on my floors; due to my negligence. Matt again sent Roberto and these seemingly anal compulsive insignificant issues were resolved to my complete satisfaction both professionally and expeditiously. It?s not just the quality of the job this company strives to do but rather the attitude that Matt and his people portray. They sincerely want the ?customer? to be satisfied in all regards. Going the extra mile is what any of us customers could ask for from a vendor and these folks deliver and make good on that goal. Earlier posted comment: 12/28/14 On the rare occasion when a job is performed that exceeds my expectations I would like to see that credit is acknowledged so others might find a similar benefit. I contracted with Matt Bruno (Palermo?s owner) and had the benefit of his foreman ?Roberto- heading the crew. Roberto and crew worked at my house over a three day period. This was a basic sanding and poly job with both staircase and spindle areas that required more than machine work. I also required a follow up for touch up that occurred because I?m over exacting. The resulting work was professional, attentive to detail, crisp and done with a most positive attitude. They cleaned up each day and my wife had no issues to complain about. Under Roberto?s leadership the crew was able to affect the desired result. Matt and his people were able to answer all questions to my satisfaction in terminology I could understand. I interviewed a number of contractors before choosing Palermo and found Palermo?s pricing to be within the range of others. With the results I achieved, I would have gladly have paid toward the higher end and been equally satisfied. I did not experience delays in scheduling. With the volume of work this company does, you might have to be patient on setting a date I waited three to four weeks before the start date; but again the wait was worth the extra quality and professional service received. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend.

They were good. I had an issue with him but I can't remember what it was. It wasn't completed on time.

Overall, I'm happy with the finished job in the attic, but have a few issues with the stairs. Also, it was a long process with many bumps in the road getting the project complete. I likely wouldn't use them again and wouldn't recommend them to others. I purchased my materials from Lumber Liquidators and was directed to Palermo for the install, otherwise I probably would have looked to someone else to install. I listed my main issues below. 1) CONTRACTOR: While the person we were dealing with was very nice and responsive in the beginning, he did forget to tell me to order transition pieces for the areas where the main room met 2 closets. I was told later that it was his error and he would get the wood, come back and reinstall. This actually was never completed. After a lot of back and forth I set up additional time for him to come in and he was suppose to pick up the wood. I guess he had actually quit and therefore I never heard from him, but no one from Palermo reached out to me in any case. When I rescheduled to have the rest of the job complete and pick up the transition pieces myself, which I thought were already ordered and paid for by Palermo, I was told this wasn't the case. At this point, I didn't want the process to drag on any longer so I threw in the towel on it. 2) STAIRS: I choose a lighter stain for the stairs, but was told by the Palermo is was too light and wouldn't match the bamboo I already had installed. Since they are the experts I looked to them for guidance and asked that they choose whichever stain matched. In the end, the stain is completely off from what I wanted and didn't match the bamboo at all. The stain is so dark is almost looks black in some places. Additionally, it was very pricey to have done and I could have done it for half the price with a different company but needed to meet a minimum $ amount with Palermo or pay an additional $500 fee. 3) STAIRNOSE: We had a minor issue with the stairnose install as the glue was showing...it looked like too much was used and it squirted out in 3 places. It was very noticeable, but Palermo came back and fixed at no additional charge. It only took an hour or so.

Matt came to the house and looked over the floors to be finished in the main house and gave us a price. He also looked at the floor in our newly installed sun room and said he could install floor molding for us for an additional $200. He told us what size molding to purchase. The workers came and did an excellent job sanding and finishing the main floors. However, the size molding that Matt told us to get was incorrect. We needed a bigger size. Matt, or one of his workers, purchased the correct size and it was installed. Matt then called to advise us of the additional charge for the larger molding. I didn't feel it was our responsibility to pay for Matt's error in measuring. The molding we purchased at a local home supply center was $32. Matt sent a bill for $100 for the molding he purchased.

They were excellent. They were amazing. Everything comes in a timely manner. It is clean. It is logical. The work that they did was great. They had great reviews when I initially called him for my first project. He was not the cheapest. It did not want the cheapest side, but he was definitely not the most expensive. He was from the lower end of the middle and I feel that he does very very good work and he has tremendous follow through like if there is an issue and there is always an issue. He gets back right away. He does not disappear. When they started to go back to do the final thing and they are not getting paid it was part of the origin contract. Oh I can’t tell you it is like the bane of my misery trying to get someone to come back because they are coming back and they are not making anymore money. They have already been paid on the job and he is just great. There were issues that I am not even sure were his fault and he fixed them. It is sort taken to be a really sleazy business for refurnishing. It is not like carpet laying it is not all. Floor refurnishes are the same. It is a real range and the depth of knowledge of product and what is the best product as far as whether water based or oil based, how many quotes all that stuff I mean it is just great. Wasn’t like he rounded up a bunch of workers and just stuff them on my job and they had never finished a floor before which I feel like they are some companies that do that. I was totally fine with the pricing. I could not recommend them more highly. I had a very good experience. I probably used them about five times.
