+ -1 moreWe admit that we patronize another hardware store because it is close and has a lot of product, but a couple of years ago they seem to have made a corporate decision to staff the stores with skeleton crews, and to dump the retired carpenters in favor of 16 year old cashiers named Cheryl who know how to chew gum and not much more. We discovered the folks at Nyack lumber to be very knowledgeable, and helpful. They helped with ordering special molding, they ripped molding down to special size for us as well as boards as needed. they customized a door with half window for us. after we had already ordered and received a solid door. they picked up the solid door when they delivered the windowed door and credited the price to us!they wrap the lumber and load your car, and they provide free delivery for any order over $100. They recognize you and greet you... it's a throwback to an age of personal service.
Description of Work: This is technically a lumber yard, hardware store and kitchen design service, but I list them because they give a level of personal service rare in this age of big box stores. In purchasing lumber, doors and molding from them they will customize on the spot your lumber needs including ripping boards down to a specifically needed size.
