As part of a complete renovation of a 2 family home I had to completely replace and rebuild 2 mid-sized kitchens. At first I considered Ikea kitchens, but they proved too inflexible and to difficult to spec out and build (the Ikea staff are minimally competent and their kitchen design tools are flawed, not to mention the tremendous amount of assembly that is required). I ultimately decided on Kraftmaid cabinets and visited at least 6 different dealers before finding Nyack. Their showroom was small, yet vastly better than both Lowes and Home Depot. More importantly, their lead designer, Mike, was infinitely more experienced and competent a kitchen designer than you will find most anywhere. In 3 hours we collaboratively designed both kitchens, and he caught several errors that had been made by other designers (it was a fairly complex design), and had some great ideas that improved the overall design. We were able to refine the details over email, order the cabinets, and get deliver in just 3 weeks. Throughout the process he provided 3D renderings of the design. He was responsive, professional, and amazingly, lower cost than either Home Depot or Lowes. He even met the delivery folks at the house and insured that everything went smoothly. All the cabinets were exactly as ordered, and he even provided replacement parts at wholesale when my installer cut some pieces the wrong length. I was very pleased with the quality, especially considering the very low price. I can confidently recommend Nyack Kitchen to anyone looking to do a remodel, ESPECIALLY if they are not an experienced home renovator. Note that Nyack does not actually install kitchens, they just design them and have them built by Kraftmaid. However, they have a network of installer they referred me to.
