Our experience was a nightmare. We still have not finished our home because we are trying to get him out of our life. The work was done wrong and improperly. They came up short when building a second floor bedroom so they added a second layer of flooring (lowering the ceiling height in the rooms below)and charged us for their mistake. Siding is installed wrong, voiding our warranty. A window is installed off-center and nailed shut. Tiles in the new unused bathroom are moving. Bathtub is installed wrong (the skirt cannot be installed) During the project, debris was left to blow around - I was chasing empty window boxes down my street. After several requests to clean the building debris left around the yard, my family and I finally loaded the dumpster (left out in front of our house for weeks) ourselves.
Description of Work: We "contracted" with MEC to build a master bedroom and bathroom over an existing two car garage in the beginning of September 2003. We threw him out in May 2004 with the job undone. We have a lien on our home from MEC and cannot get him out of our life. The work that was done, was done very poorly and extremely slow. MEC has billed us for the job being done and billed us for additional things that were to correct his mistakes.
