Like I mentioned we have used this service for the last three snow seasons. We have an apartment complex, and the snow removal would take place during the overnight hours when our lot is full, (Which was ok) however the next day, they would not return to do lot cleanup as asked and stated in the contract and when called asked asked to do day cleanup was treated as it was a burden to them and got pretty gruff on the phone! Also when snow season was completed per the contract they were supposed to return for lawn repair from the plows, which all they did was pull there staked and left with out any repair work. When called about repair work, all I got was we will get to it! NO SHOW!

I have been working with him for the past 3 years now. Their price is outstanding and they are very efficient. They do what they say they will do and I have never had any problems. The workers are very nice.

One major 'speed-bump' is that we both relied on our memories because we didn't write up a detailed work order contract...we went on the old school 'handshake', which worked, but for two issues. (He also should've provided a work sheet for his crew..I had to keep 'reminding' them to do this or that, and they wouldn't until their boss ok'd it. Having that work sheet to check-off finished jobs would've been helpful to them. I was told that I wasn't the first customer to mention this by one of his men).
One, I honestly don't recall the owner telling me that I needed to remove all the dog droppings in my back yard. I have a really bad back, but because I didn't want to be charged extra for this, I managed to get it all. I've never had previous landscapers make an issue of this...they've always used my hose to wash off their shoes and equipment. But---I 'get it', and got the job done.
Two---I had to remind him 3 times to have some Day Lily bulbs dug up in the front yard. They only cut them down when I was pretty specific about needing them dug up so they don't return. He remembered and never made an issue of it....at least to me.
Not having the details in writing (MY 'bad'---I should know better!) was the ONLY reason I gave the "B" rating in the Professionalism column---he should take some ownership on that as well for not insisting he do that to avoid the very 'communication issues' I mentioned.
But for these three items, I must honestly say that Joe (the owner), was prompt, polite, friendly (except for the dog poop issue. He was a bit upset, but I quickly diffused that), and professional. He worked within my budget by making great suggestions, and gave me a price break on a substitution he was forced to make on the stone I selected from the company he buys from. (They hadn't received what I had ordered 3 weeks' prior, which upset me, but Joe more than 'made good' on that. I'm happy with his substitution.
He also rounded-down the bill by a few dollars, which showed good faith on his part.
As long as you keep in mind to get a VERY detailed work order/contract, I would not only recommend Ground Effects to others, I plan on doing repeat business with them next year for another small wall I'd like to have....and yes, it will all be in writing, too!
Of all the landscapers I've contracted over the years, I can honestly say that with Ground Effects, I got my biggest bang for my buck to date. He's been in business 21 yrs., and is very conscious of the competition and therefore, prices his jobs with that in mind.

Very friendly and nice workers, arrived on time. The bushes they trimmed were lopsided when finished.
In hindsight his pricing was very high.

All I can say is that they were on time, efficient, meticulous, did exactly what I wanted done and cleaned up everything. Since they are always very professional, with reasonable pricing I will continue to use them next year for lawn care and any other landscaping I may need done.

They do a great job and the prices were reasonable. They did a couple different estimates for several things I wanted done. They were prompt, cleaned up and were very polite. I did not have to pay anything up front and will use them again in the future.
